Just a couple more screenshots to show you all how it's coming on:

Just a couple of McLarens and Mustangs, a Marcos, a Panoz and a few more GT2 Porsches and it'll be about done.

That Viper is so sweet!! It was my favourite GT car from the 90s along with the Mercedes CLK GTR!!

I can't wait for this carset to be completed!! I may well become a GT nut once again!!!

While I was painting the ORECA Viper I remembered that I got a postcard of it signed by '97 GT2 champion Justin Bell at the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show, although I don't remember actually seeing the car there... Mind you I did get to change a tyre on a Ferrari F1 car at the same show so maybe that outshone it a little

Working on the McLaren F1 now. I loved this car, hope I can do it justice! Done a couple more GT2 Porsches as well.

Hi Greyhead, thanks for the screenshots! So far you did a superb job, the cars look amazing. And there are still a lot of hot cars coming! :D

I think the front of the Porsche worked out well. I had some doubts that it would be difficult with the carshape, but it seems you've found a good solution.

Now I'm waiting for the McLaren F1 GTR, I guess it should work very good with the carshape you created.

To be honest the Porsche was a real pain to do, it didn't suit the carshape very well at all as the nose of the real life car is quite long, I think if I scrapped the Porsche and started again I could probably make the nose look longer (by pushing the headlights back and stuff) but quite frankly I can't be bothered!

The McLaren is nearly finished and as FK says, it does fit the shape pretty well and I'm quite pleased with it. Unfortunately both long and short tail versions of this car ran in 1998, and doing the short tail one is a lot more than just taking a bit off the end of the long tail one! In order to get the proportions of that one right I'm going to have to do the whole car from scratch... ](*,)

Some bugs are eliminated.
Some new (small?) bugs generated.
Textur distortions. Back window for example.

I don't see the distorions. :?: To me it looks brilliant! Must have been a lot of work, but the result is worth it.

Is there any chance you could do this also for the LMP carshape? Or maybe a make a tutorial, so that I could modify some of my sportscar-shapes. That would be great!

Top work Andreas. I also don't really see the rear window distortion, the rear wheel is a little but I imagine that can be edited out in the bitmap. I doubt that we could ever create an absolutely "perfect" shape (i.e. no flickering or distortions or whatever) thanks to the limitations of GP2 but this is pretty close!

I've been trying to edit the shape myself by making sure that no parts of it overlap and things like that, but rather than solving any problems it just seems to create more ](*,)

I have to admit, though, that because I spend perhaps 95% of my GP2 time with touring cars and GT cars that I've got so used to the flickering and stuff that I barely notice it...

:P During the last weeks I installed new GP2 games on my hard disk (I've 12 GP2 games installed here) and one is for touring car races (mainly WTCC), and other for sport-prototype races (Le Mans 2008 and WSC 1991 carsets mainly), and I tested many carsets of yours... man! It's amazing! I'm falling in love for the driving, the cars, the carshapes, the engine sound... it's the most accurate sensation to drive a touring car and a sport-prototype car that I had.

Keep the excellent job. With these new GT cars project you make me install my 13th GP2 game here in my HD

Cheers Antonio :D

Had to stop work on it all for a few days though, hurt my back (again) at work so I can't sit at a computer for too long at the moment. I plan to start back on it in about a week's time and I think I'll be tackling the Saleen Mustang.

The "to do" list is shortening nicely, just car bitmaps for a GT1 Porsche, a GT2 Porsche, a couple of Mustangs and a Marcos left, and a few menu pictures, then that's it! With any luck it'll all be finished by the start of March.

Made a start on a 2009 GT carset too, but so far it's just a list of names.
