best way to go back to default cockpit in gp2?
best way to go back to default cockpit in gp2?
years ago I installed a custom cockpit using gp2edit, but I don't know how to go back to the default- what is the easiest way?
Re: best way to go back to default cockpit in gp2?
I made a copy some time ago... I hope it´s the correct one.
Otherwise you need the original version. I think Rremedio posted it here some time ago

Thank you I will try it! Watching Ted Meat play GP2 all the time has me want to use the original cockpit again.
Re: best way to go back to default cockpit in gp2?
Hello everyone.
Two questions when using original GP2 (at 'ace' level and 1994 teams performance) :
1/ does the player performance depends on the car choice ? Obviously cars running with the comptuter have different performances (in line with 1994 ranking) but when you chose a Minardi do you make the same lap time as with a Williams ?
2/ linked to this, are there specific 'grip' and 'engine power' original 1994 settings - like we see with GP2edit - and how can we see these numbers ? Should I link GP2edit with the original GP2.exe file and the numbers will be G. Crammonds original ones ?
Apart from this I am trying to link GP2edit and x86 but I have cockpit appearence issues (no rpm, no shift indication)... will try again.
Thanks !

Hi bernie, how are you?
The answer for your first questio is, no. In the original game, the players car performance does not change if you select a benetton or a pacific. Your grip and engine bhp will always be the same. BHP is set 790/780 (quali/race) - same as Renault, the strongest in 94 - and players grip is set at 16384 - same as Schumacher, the best grip in 94.
All of that can be changed in different editors. In GP2 Edit you can set your car to have your teams bhp (benetton would be 765 / 750 instead, for exemple); in slots and tire editor you can change the human grip. Let's say you want to race the same performance as Mika Hakkinen in 94. On GP2 Edit, inside Car Settings, you can select "Use Selected Team Power", so your engine will be as strong as 750/720 (quali / race) because this is Peugeot bhp in orginal game. Then, if you want your grip to be the same as Hakkinen, you can open Slot and Tire Editor, go to Misc and set Human Grip to 15765, wich is Hakkinen's grip.
It is going to be much harder to achieve pole position and wins, once your grip will be significantly worst (compared to defautl 16384). But this is the way to emulate as better as you can a particular driver performance.
I go even further. When I'm playing a season championship, I even simulate the random grip range race by race for my driver, according to the carset I'm plaiyng. This way I try to simulate the performance changes along the season for my driver, using my own method.
If you need some help, tell us.

Thanks a lot for the explanations!

Of course - if your are Frederich Bang- you can win races even with low engine hp and less grip...! (said in a "ted meat voice") LOL
