Gp2.exe was not patched correclty

Hi All

Have just found this game again after many years. Trying to export car set but keep getting "GP2.EXE was not patched correctly". I can export Team names and Colours but no Team Data or car settings as well as All jam Files.

Please be patient with me as i am not computer savy.

Please help as i want to show my kids how much of a great game this is. Or maybe more for me

Try this: in Windows Explorer, right click the GP2 folder, then go to Properties and uncheck the "Read Only" box. When the system asks, apply it to all files and subfolders (or something like that).

Maybe it works.

I go to window explorer and right click on gp2 then in properties under general I do see the read only box. I when i click on this and do what you ask a) the same error message when installing car set and b) when i right click again the read only box has colored blue again??

That's never happened to me before.
Is something wrong with your GP2 Installation?
Did you try it with a fresh GP2 Installation?

Try to export in single steps.
Unselect All in the "Select Items to Export" Window.
Select only one checkbox and try to export.
Continue with the next checkboxes in single steps.
Maybe you can find the file that has generated the error.

I actually got it from a blog that had dosbox attached and was very easy to install maybe this might be the problem. Any idea's where i can get a copy that won't cause me any greif?

I installed GP2 with Dosbox, the GP2 cd in my possession did not want to install with Windows 10, so I downloaded Gp2 with an abandonware site in France. The game works very well, the only problem is that when I use Gp2 Edit the values of the cars do not download.

Check if your GP2 folder doesn't have read-only files. Also, make sure GP2Edit has the correct path to your GP2 installation.
