Hi Folks,
got a small problem with DosBox which has been graining on me for months and I simply cannot take it much longer!
So, here's the problem...
When I play GP2 on DosBox, a small screen-version of DosBox appears on my monitor and the game graphics look really clean and crisp. Now, when I press Alt+Enter to make it Full Screen, the quality dissapears and while the graphics are still playable, they are not anywhere near as clean and crisp as they are on the smaller version.
Does anyone know why this might be or how to fix it?
Also, when i run the game in DosBox, the game has a tendancy to have a low frame rate about once a minute where the game slows down then speeds up again. Now, when i play Nascar 3, that doesn't slow down at all but Im guessing that that is due to the fact I am not running it in DosBox...
So, can anyone help/advise on how I can sharpen up the quality of the graphics when opening it out in Full Screen and how the game can run more smoothly?????
I also have a problem with the new Thrustmaster wheel/pedals I got but will put that in another post...
Many thanks!
Slight Problem with DosBox
Re: Slight Problem with DosBox
I use these configurations and I think I have good quality at full screen. I think you need a little trial and error until you get everything right.
fullscreen=false
fulldouble=true
fullresolution=800X600
windowresolution=800X600
output=opengl
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=highest,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

Re: Slight Problem with DosBox
Under the DosBox folder at Windows Start Menu there's a folder called Options and inside it there's a shortcut calles DosBox 0.74 options (or something like that). It will open a text file. Just find those lines in the file, edit them and then save it, then load DosBox.JamesonJack wrote:Thanks rremedio but how the hell do I input that data you are using????

Inside that text file there are also instructions about all parameters you may change.
Re: Slight Problem with DosBox
When you run DOSBOX also for better perfomance use "-noconsole" command in your shortcut path. This will remove the useless console behind your DOS window.
Also if opengl mode is not working properly (like in my case, use ddraw it's very good).
