No sound with GP2

Hi everyone!,

I've a problem with GP2: sound doesn't work. I tried to read here "http://grandprix2.de/wissen/gp2_xp/gp2_xp2.html" but VDMSound doesn't work right with Windows Vista. The problem is that when I try to launch the shortcut named "SETUP" (the icon with a little black box with the text "C:\") a black empty window appears and I can't do anything. So I can't configurate sound.

If you can, help me. Thanks a lot!!!

I don't have much knowledge about this, but: Do you have DOS4gw.exe in your Gp2 folder? i believe this is needed to run the VDMsound programs, otherwise you can try DosBox instead of VDMSound, but i don't have experience with that...

Thank you. Sadly I have DOS4gw.xe in gp2 folder. I also tried with DosBox but when I type "setup" nothing happens...
I don't understand...

Yes I tried with D-fend Reloaded program: when I launch the setup dosbox starts but doesn't work . I don't display the sound configuration page as is wrote in the manual....

And you have used the setup.exe from http://grandprix2.de/Anleitung/dosbox/setup_nocd.zip for the sound setup?

I know that some people are confused with the nocd exe's.

You need the
-GP2NOCD.EXE - Play gp2 without cdrom

and

-SETUP.EXE (from setup_nocd.zip) - Make the sound setup without cdrom.
