2009 presentations
I guess there will be some conversation about this, right?
Nice web-presentation of the Ferrari F60, in my opinion, including a 360-degrees-kinda view where you can look at it from different directions.

Naah, I guess it's just matter of getting used to that.
If we were already born when the wings were introduced to F1 (late '60, '70), we'd been probably saying the same things.

@Jake
Now you say it's ugly, wait untill the other cars are presented, than you'll find out that the Ferrari is one of the best looking cars of the bunch.
I watched some footage and I have to say the F60 looks better on video than in the pictures.
Because I've installed a picture as desktop, I'll get used to the new look pretty soon (hopefully). [-o<

Well I was born into a world of ground-effect and just before turbos took over and most of those cars were bloody hideous! Still better looking than this new breed though.

Re: 2009 presentations
In someway (hate me if you disagree) i think it's beautiful... Without all those wings, and flaps and
stuff they certainly look better!
OK, the rear wing and front wing aren't exactly nice, but we will get used to it!

Exactly my opinion!DJS wrote:Now you say it's ugly, wait untill the other cars are presented, than you'll find out that the Ferrari is one of the best looking cars of the bunch.
But overall I think that I personally will always find the 2009 cars ugly. And if you ask a designer he will probably tell you, that these cars can't look good, because there is something wrong with the proportions.
My hope is, that we'll see 10 cars going into the pits, to get a new frontwing, after the first lap in Melbourne. Maybe then the FIA will think at least about this ultra-wide frontwing.

Re: 2009 presentations
From the angle of the photo somehow it reminds me of a late 1960's Brabham (the one with the rear wing stuck up high on a couple of poles). The camera angle does nothing for the look of the car, it does look better from different angles but it's still weird. In between the wings it looks fine, I saw a top-down shot of it and it looks really tiny and lean, kind of like an F3 car.

Re: 2009 presentations
I hope it will not lead to front wing carnage, because that could increase discussions about how severe it is to attack or block another driver, and then we get into another iteration of the well-known "Are these harsh kinds of penalties really necessary?" discussion?
I haven't changed my mind on the look and dimensions of the car(s), though. It seems a bit strange at first, but I don't have any doubts you can and will get used to it. How long it takes will differ, individually, of course...

Re: 2009 presentations
I like the car, but the rear wing makes it look like a F3.

the rear-wing is ugly from different angles.
But overall it's a nice car. I like it.

Today it was Toyota's turn:
Looks in some kind like a low-rider to me but not as ugly as the Ferrari

I hope it's not a slow-rider
It's less "frankeinsteinish" than the Ferrari, and reminds some cars from 96-97.

Re: 2009 presentations
I can't see so many difference than with previous cars.
They all look like some sham of a F3000 wannabe car.
Absolutely ugly. FACT.
