The thing I never understood about these smaller rear wings is how the team bosses let them through with the reduced space they offer for sponsorship logos...

Ron Dennis said that he'll leave the company within the 1st March 2009

Nah, he's just stepping down as team principal HF.

Well this may be the car that changes people's minds about the new breed of F1 machinery (including mine). This is stunning! Even with the slightly odd-looking 1995-style nose and frankly bizarre sidepods, it looks great. Nice to see someone thinking a bit differently to the herd as well. Hopefully it works out for them.

That could be influeced by the angle we see the car in the picture. Here are some nice others:

Did they steal the airbox off a 1972 Matra-Simca?

The rear-wing endplates on the McLaren look smaller than they do on the Toyota or Ferrari... :? Or is this just the effect off the large(r) bonnet, or the cars color? :|

I don't think they're smaller, the section at the left rear (where a part has been "cut out" from the rectangle form) looks different from the Toyota, though.

Heikki Kovalainen is the first driver in what will probably be a number of them to come out with an updated helmet design, by the way... you can see better now that he and Kimi share the designers' company, I gues..

WOW, the new Williams is the best looking 2009-spec car I've seen so far. Even the frontwing looks good!

But what the hell did Renault do? The shape of the car looks like ** and the livery still tops that! :-&

For me is the ugliest of all...

But I like the new Williams. They could keep the livery too.

My first reaction to the Renault was "my God, it's a Formula BMW". It's hideous. It doesn't even look fast. It kind of looks like about ten different people designed each part of it, each without knowing what the other nine were doing, and then stuck it all together with super-glue. I actually quite like the livery though...

Love the Williams though, hope they keep the simple dark blue colour scheme, kind of reminds me of the 1998 Arrows (even though that was black). Simple but effective. Certainly never did the JPS Loti any harm.

I have to say it is all slowly starting to grow on me....

But I seem to be the only bloke who likes the Renault! Oh well, I'm just excited to see what Red Bull and particularly Force India has to offer. Especially with that McLaren-Mercedes collaboration.....
