World Sportscar Racing '92

Post by V12-Power »

I thought it was time to start an own topic for my actual sportscar project.

I called it "World Sportscar Racing '92", because (as already mentionend in the SWC 1991 thread) it includes cars from several championships, namely SWC, FIA-Cup (they raced together), JSPC and IMSA.

Today I finished the line-up (kicked two FIA-Cup teams and added two IMSA teams). I know that the set is not 100% realistic, but sadly the grid of the SWC was not big enough to make an own set. The compromise is a set including the fastest cars of the sportscar world in 1992 (except the Gebhardt C91, which was probably the worst sportscar in '92).

SWC
Peugeot 905
Lola T92/10
Mazda MXR-01 (also JSPC)
Toyota TS010 (also JSPC)
BRM P351 (also IMSA)

FIA-Cup
Cougar C28S (also IMSA)
Gebhardt C91

JSPC
Nissan R92CP
Nissan R91CK (also IMSA)
Toyota 92C-V

IMSA
Jaguar XJR-14
Mazda RX-792P
Nissan NPT-91A
Toyota Eagle MKIII

All American Racers Toyota Eagle Mk III

@Chico Landi: I'm not sure if I'll make the cars available as single cars. Actually I'm planning to release the 1992 stuff in a complete set.

I have a carshape which I made for Le Mans 2007. I think this would match your requirements. It can be used for the Peugeot 908 as well as for the Audi, Pescarolo etc.. I'll send it to you now!

Here is a small screenshot compilation. It's only a small selection of cars which are completely ready (BRM, Mazda) or are lacking only some small details (Toyota, Gebhardt). After I made the screenshots I updated also some details on those cars.

I've already shown some other cars (Courage and FromA Nissan) of the set in two other topics, btw.

During the next time I'll try to finish all cars that I've started completely (which means adding some small sponsors and details) and after that I'll start the last two cars to paint. Then I'll create (if already started this tbh) several versions of every car. While doing this I'll also finish a new, much better looking cockpit.

The set will also have a spare-team (the red car from the screenshot -> GSR Gebhardt).

Right now I would say 90% are done, a real nice situation to see that not much work is left and the hardest parts are done.

Now take a look at the screenshots!

I especially like the BRM. Sadly I crashed with it 3 times today, always in good positions (4th, 6th, 9th) ... :?

FK,

I am still having problems with the carshape distance using your carset. I seem to be following your instructions to the letter but obviously I'm still doing something wrong....any ideas?

You did ask it in this thread some time ago, right? The answers there didn't help? Hmm, then it's difficult... Right now I have no idea where else your problem could be. :(
