Old School / Gp2 Style

Post by TdK »

I've a small question for you all:

Do you like the old Gp2 style tracks? :?:

I'm planning to make a track in the old gp2 style which only uses jam's already in the game. So you will get low fences, gp2 tarmac, etc...

The *.zip file will only contain a track file, and an gp2form file than, just for information.

Love to hear...

Yes ! The old GP2 tracks are good too.
Just you need a great idea for a great track.
I was "Men in love" with old Spa...... ( but I don't love the old Bus Stop....)
Hey, you can work in a new Spa 2007 ??? :)

I like tracks with custom graphics more. But it's possible to make a good track in the old style. Anyway, the most important thing in a track is the ccline in my opinion, and you make great ones.

So, please, make the track! lol

Mh, I really like the original GP2-style tracks but the modern one like AAS Australian 2000 are much better than the original one in GP2.
But it would be interesting to see how modern a new "GP2-styled" track looks like.

So, do it Tim!

OK. Thanks for the reactions.

I will give it a try to come up with something good and then you will see the result, you've all already come up with great ideas.

HOW ABOUT THIS!:
* How do you guys think about a sort off Ultima Track in the old Gp2 style, only including tracks from the original 1994 season?
* Which corners or straight lines should be included?

My suggestion would be to make an old school version of a new school track.
Then we could compare the new old against the old new!!!!

Mh, great idea! You should include the Eau rouge of Spa and maybe turn 1 to 3 of the Monaco track.

That's true, but Ultima track also uses modern tracks, like Melbourne, etc... My track than would look almost exactly like the old gp2 version, and also uses tracks like Pacific, Adelaide, etc...

Di Lesmo corners or Ascari from Monza. The chicane before the harp in from Montreal. Tosa or Piratella from Imola. The second chicane after the tunnell in Monaco (I don't remember the name) or the tunnell itself. Turns 1 and 2 from Estoril. The 2 corners that lead to the big straight in Adelaide...

That's what comes to my mind...

Le Mans is not used in Microprose original Gp2!!!

Sorry about that, but i won't include it because of that... 8)

You all come up with great ideas. Remember that it's a long term project, so it won't be available in a short period... (I did not even started yet!)

This idea is a bit out of the planning right now. I'm first going to try a gp2 (Microprose) styled track, maybe later on i will make a summary of the old Gp2 1994 tracks...
