Yes I thought the same about Spa it is annoying. Is it the same with John Edwards's 1998 version? Another unrealistic corner is the corner 4 at Montreal you can flat out in 5th or 6th gear in the original.. in real the cars stay under 160 km/h.

On Montreal- Are you talking about the first corner AFTER the front "hairpin" as you go onto the back side of the island? If so I was thinking the exact same thing!

I have a different version of Montreal with slightly better graphics but the flaw with that corner is still there. I think these are just dressed up versions of the original tracks.

I think all of the versions of SPA on the forum tracks section are the original trackshape. (I could be wrong)

Exactly, I saw the correct corner in the Roberto or Antonio's version of modern Montreal (maybe 2020). I would like make the same for original layout. About Spa the John Edwards's version seems to me near the reality but maybe not perfect. The "eau rouge raidillon" looks like just more realistic but I forgot about the bus stop.

I actually raced a 100% length race at spa just now. Eau Rouge is a difficult corner to get right. I seemed to have better luck when i made all of my dampers stiffer, as well as increased my ARBs to 3000 front, 300 rear.

Ring Knutstorp? Wow, my favourite track from Northern Europe...also mentioned in this list of best tracks for touringcar racing: https://www.touringcartimes.com/2022/01 ... -calendar/
So I´m very looking forward to it!
I´m also interested in your version of Spa. When I use a carset from the 80s it is always uninspiring to have to drive the original version of Spa, so having a version for the 80s would be a great addition!
About Montreal, I´ve never tried to do that corner flat-out. I may try. Maybe Vettel thought he was in GP2 when he made the mistake some years ago at that corner!

I went through that Montreal evaluation. Yes, different versions of Montreal 1996-2001, starting of course with the original Microprose track, make for unrealistic speeds in turns 3 and 4 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_G ... neuve).svg ). I'm not sure if the John Edwards corrected this in his "mont00je" version of Montreal.

In fact, I also can't remember if this happens in the Mikael Olsson track (plus RRemedio ccline, notredame_mo.zip + montreal-81-87_ccline_update. What I'm sure is that the Montreal_Canada_2019 version by Antonio Pessoa gets it incredibly accurate, to the point I feel it should be used even when playing seasons from 1996 onwards.

Maybe Antonio has nothing better to do today than to do not one but TWO new versions of Montreal based on his Montreal_Canada_2019:
- 1991-95 version (https://www.racingcircuits.info/north-a ... treal.html)
- 1979-86 version (https://www.racingcircuits.info/north-a ... treal.html)
I won't be asking the 1988-90 so this does not get too much   8)

Michael- check out my friend's Detroit Downtown track he is building for icr2! It is epic. I learned most of what I know about track editing from him.

Michael - I am running a 1990 season and I was curious if you finished your 1989-1990 Phoenix layout. I previously used your 1991 layout and it was fantastic. You last posted about this in a thread here about 2 years ago: viewtopic.php?p=34053#p34053

Hi!
I'm happy you like my 1991's track version. Unfortunately I haven't took the time in order to finish the 89-90 version. I will make that for sure.

Michael - I am driving your monaco 86 track in my 1990 season right now and I am really enjoying it. I was originally frustrated with it because it is so much tighter than the vanilla monaco that comes with gp2, but the more I drive on your track the more I think it is much better than the vanilla monaco. I commend you for this excellent work! thank you for giving this to us.

Thank you for you comment! As said Piquet "like riding a bicycle around your living room" I drove with this track recently too in an alternative 1994 championship. It was so hard so I changed the grip in track editor with two commands (track grip and weirdo enabler). I did some changes with magic data in order to have a realistic laptime. If you want the file I can put it here.

This reminds me of a chat I was having with rremedio- he said that Piquet was probably his favorite driver because of the things he said. I can agree- Piquet is easy to like!

I would love any updated files you have. I use the magic data editor frequently. I actually just was tweaking the fuel consumption and race/qual time values yesterday. I do that with all of my tracks so that the values are spot on for me.
