Always very interesting to read your opinion about a track. Since a long time I am often admirating to see your works. Nowadays we have a lot of fantastic tracks, carsets... Tdk is back. This simulation is really surprising :D

I posted this question on your youtube page- but can you clarify what the difference between version 1.0, and 1.1 is ?

Is the track geometry the same as the original microprose monaco? (just graphical edits)

:) Really amazing GP2 is still alive more than 25 years after its releasing. And there was no more realistic Monaco version than yours, released few weeks ago. GP2 is like wine, became better with the age.
Yesterday I drove some more laps in Monaco 86, and it's great. The details, so rich. The turn angles, now the correct. I felt immersed, like been actually in Monte Carlo driving there.

Last days, the plaster on my left arm was removed, and now my arm, wrist and hand are in great shape to drive GP2. Just for some great laps, because time and non-GP2 activities is tight.

I tried driving this track and originally I thought it was just a graphics update, but the track geometry is different. From what I can tell the speeds are much slower and this is more realistic too. I will have to adjust the magic data because even the CCs are laping around 87 seconds which is too high with the current magic data for Monaco in slot 4.

I have to be honest I was a little frustrated driving it for the first hour or so because I kept crashing and spinning. The original Monaco from microprose is probably the track I am my personal best at so I thought I'd be quick with this 86 version. I did not realize that the original microprose Monaco is so inaccurate (it's too fast pretty much everywhere)

I seem to have issues with the car snapping loose over some of the height transitions in this 86 Monaco but my driving style is slowly adapting to it. For example, the right hand corner past the casino the car gets loose easy which this does not happen in the original microprose version. I did notice that the san-devote corner does not snap loose like the original microprose version since it has a slower entry which is more realistic. Ultimately I need more practice with this track as I am very slow. The cosmetic work is excellent though.

Yes I'm agree it is quite difficult to drive on this track particularly without helps. Also it seems to me there is a little "problem" at Loews corner. I had to modificate value in the control menu. 12 degrees wasn't enough. Have you the same problem? Maybe because the track is more narrow than the original track..
About the right hand corner past the casino it reminds me Berger during the 1995's qualify 😅https://youtu.be/CSXNsqMWwZs

I typically increase the steering lock in the control settings for the default monaco. I normally run 15, and I increase it to 18.

With my 18, I can barely get around the "new" Loews you made.

I wish GP2 Had a steering lock setting in the car setup like ICR2 does.

I can't imaging trying to drive at all of the other tracks with only 12 degrees though. I watch a lot of classic F1 I am absolutely sure I've heard them say that yes, they put more steering lock in especially for Loews.

If I recall wasn't Monaco 86 the first year with the Nouvelle Chicane?

Yes you're right 12 degrees isn't enough particarly with a steering wheel. With a pad I try 18 or 20 for the new (old)Monaco but it is too much for another track.

Yes until 1996 and they made a modification at the swimming pool in 1997.

Michael have you been working on any new tracks lately? Myself I have been building a real life replica of the Denver 1991 CART track for ICR2. I started in November and I only just recently finished adding all of my trackside objects. I would love to see you re-do some of the other original tracks Gp2 has. Would you be interested in re-doing those?

Hi! Yes currently I have been working on a short sweden track Knupstorp for the European F3 championship of 1979 (with Prost, Alboreto, Mansell, Ghinzani, Streiff, Borgudd, Boutsen, Baldi, Thackwell, I try to make a good carset) Congratulations for your track. I would like to see that! I never built a track for ICR2 but it seems relatively hard as for GP2.
I have some projects with F1 original tracks but particularly for the 1985 season. I would like to update all the original tracks. It would be great for the 1990's f1 champ. Do you think about a track especially first?

When I think about original tracks that weren't accurate one that comes to mind is Spa. For example the bus-stop chicane is way too fast in original gp2. You can get through here at about 95mph (153kph) if you get the line right. In real life during the 90s the bus-stop chicane was a 2nd or 1st gear corner entering it- about 55 mph (89kph)
