I've made some ccline updates to Spa to better suit Antonio's excellent layout improvements. It isn't still 100% as I wished but it is better than both my 2015 ccline and the ones from the previous layout with the old chicane.

The updated Monza track was already ready but I didn't post it yet because Antonio wanted to make further graphical enhancements so it matches the graphical quality from Paul Ricard, Silverstone and Spa :D

I'm very happy with the new Spielberg track but it still needs more objects updated to 2019 and a pitlane fix. Hungaroring also needs a pitlane fix.

This gives us 3 tracks almost complete (tho Hungaroring is not getting a graphical update), then the next three tracks (Mexico City, Suzuka and Interlagos) will require more work and there's still Montreal, which Antonio thinks about updating and Hockenheim which I'm still not sure about what kind of treatment it will get. But I think we've done more than half of the updates we want, so I believe we're gonna pull this off.

When we have all tracks I'm gonna make a package with all magic data, fuel rules, pit strategies, tyre profiles, drive performances updated for 2019 and easy to install. Then I hope to not work on modern F1 tracks anymore, for a few years at least

I'm updating some of the tracks to better fit my 2019 season. This is not a track pack or an extensive update to all tracks. The main focus is to improve cclines but for a few tracks I may also update layouts and/or adverts but it depends on how easy it will be to make those changes and how much I want them. I'm also creating the basic tracks for the three missing circuits, but don't expect anything fancy.

This is what I got ready so far:

Melbourne Download
New layout + ccline + small adverts update

Sakhir Download
New ccline + small adverts update

Baku Download
Basic new track

Barcelona Download
New layout + ccline + small adverts update

Silverstone Download
Graphical update by Antonio Pessoa =D>

Sochi Download
Basic new track

Spa Download
Graphics and layout updated by Antonio Pessoa. Small ccline update

Next in line (hopefully ready in a few weeks):
Red Bull Ring current wipe. New layout and ccline done. Some graphical updates going on.
Suzuka require updated track layout and ccline.
Monza ccline update done. 2019 graphical update being completed by Antonio.
Hungaroring ccline update done. Small topography update is done. It needs some fixing with the pitlane topography.
Interlagos - totally new track with better layout (still a long way to go).
Mexico City will be made later
Montrel graphical update is on Antonio's list of possible works :)

Full calendar:
1 - Melbourne - updated
2 - Bahrain - updated
3 - Shanghai - a great version already existed
4 - Baku - new base track done
5 - Barcelona - updated
6 - Monaco - I won't be touching this thing lol...there are many versions around, I will choose one of them
7 - Montreal - a great version already exists...Antonio thinks about maybe updating scenery to 2019 F1 style.
8 - Paul Ricard - recent track, Antonio made a great graphical update
9 - Red Bull Ring - new layout/ccline done - graphical update in progress
10 - Silverstone - recent track, Antonio made a great graphical update
11 - Hockenheim - the track that exists is already very good, I will do only a minor ccline update (maybe there is another version around, I'm waiting for news on this)
12 - Hungaroring - updated ccline, that's enough for me lol - still needs small fix on pits
13 - Spa - recent track, and it is even getting some improvements from Antonio
14 - Monza - updated, but it is getting a graphical update from Antonio to make it even better
15 - Singapore - a great version already existed
16 - Sochi - new base track done
17 - Suzuka - needs new layout/ccline and some graphics
18 - Mexico City - doesn't exist yet
19 - Austin - recent track
20 - Interlagos - new track wip
21 - Abu Dhabi - a great version already existed
Waiting for some news on a Hockenheim version that may exist. If not, I will make small updates to the ccline from the version made by tk and Antonio.
Hello rremedio,

I drove around your updated Melbourne track. I love it but came across this black spot. Can I fix this?

Lol that's weird! Are you driving in reverse direction? I never seen that spot! I usually don't pay as much attention to the rear view as I should. Or maybe I just failed including some jam file in the package. I'm gonna check it tonight.

Did a fresh installation again but the bastard is still there! But it wasn't in reverse. It shows up around halfway the track.

That´s at turn 9...it works ok for me though...you could have a look at the graphic details in the options (in game) to see if all is ticked or try to reinstall the full game again if you haven´t done it.

In GP3 this problem is often related to the size of the bitmap/jam used in the track. Perhaps check that the size is 'GP2 standard'... :-)

I'm gonna check if that's the case. Depending on the object, the visibility in lower graphic details can be set. I haven't tested Melbourne (or any track in the past few years) in lower graphic settings. But if it's not an object, but a texture turned off in the individual switches in the left side of the graphic details screen, I don't think there is anything that can be done. I'm a little busy with other stuff these days but I will check it when making the next Melbourne update (it needs some fixes in the fence distances) which should be after we complete the other tracks.

GP2 doesn't have this problem since it doesn't use the graphics card (DosBox does use it, but it is just for the whole screen, not individual textures). In the rare occasion that GP2 requires a specific texture size or ratio if you use the wrong one you usually get a corrupted image, with scrambled colours near the image corners in most cases, not a black image (in other cases you just get a wrong repetition pattern, like when using weird sizes for the grid textures.

I don't have this problem with other tracks. Bahrein, Shanghai, Baku and Barcelona are all fine. Those are the updated tracks I've installed so far.
Only Melbourne has this texture fail. And there are more Melbourne versions off course but it really annoys me. Bit of a perfectionist I guess...

Thanks, Michael!

I learned a lot seeing your 1984 tracks. There are really above the perfection!
(I learned the "shadow" effect in your Monza 1984, and I edited Monza 2019 and Montréal 2019 with the same kind of effect, but changing the tarmac texture).

Now, to update the 2019 Formula One tracks for GP2, Monza and Montréal are released now!

Work on my side has been slow in the past two or three weeks thanks to some real-life stuff, some other GP2 things and dusting off my wheel for some online races. But Antonio did an excellent job finishing Monza (which would be released as a much simpler version had he not intervened  ) and updating the CART Montreal to F1.

I keep fixing bugs in the Red Bull Ring track and I've started working on the Suzuka track and I still need to fix the pitlane for the small update of Hungaroring before finally coming back to the new Interlagos version and start working on the new Mexico City track. It never ends ](*,)

An update for Zandvoort is not on my plans at this time. There is already a great version from TdK. You just miss the banking in the corners they changed (but banking doesn't work correctly in GP2 anyway) and the trackside objects that are going to be changed by F1.

Excellent job on Monza, it`s one of my favorite tracks in GP2 and after the great 2008er version from Antonio, this version is a worthy successor =D>
