In old times they would have restarted much earlier, somehow F1 got to soft and safety-orientated in these terms. Even when somebody would have crashed because of the rain nothing would have happened anyway, but we would have seen a nice accident. The MotoGP or sportscar guys would have raced.
But what a fantastic race of the legendary Schumi, he proved that he can still do it. Too bad he did not get the podium finish he would have deserved because of DRS. Still it was great fun and excitement to see him battle for the podium and even attacking Vettel. Just amazing!
You are right for your opinions, F1 is too safety oriented thats I dont like the most.
Generally speaking: What a race! There were two interesting points to be seen. One is the safety car duration, where I'd totally be with you guys that it looked as if it should have been possible to go racing proper earlier after the restart.
The other thing was that, in my opinion, this track helped demonstrate how DRS affects the racing this year. Statistically, more overtaking maneuvers are happening since it was introduced, but it seems to me that it kind of diminishes the quality of the overtakes, as only the car behind gets an advantage in straight line speed large enough to basically blast past the car in front. To me, they could still talk and consider the mechanics of exactly how this is applied.
