I think that these kinds of helmets are well. I like it! The only problem is how to make them for PC-games..... That's the thing....

You could always try to implement a temperature simulation and then program simulated helmets with a simulated of the real thermo-helmet behavior...
The catch is everyone would need like a nuclear power plant for a PC to run that kind of F1 sim...
I think it's an innovation that will pass... like chrome helmets were years ago...
