Monaco GP: Todorov and Remedio in the first row

Image

After a promising start of qualifying for Remedio wining the first session, Todorov did the pole by less of 0.020 secs and the dutch Woldenberg´s team will have the second row for tomorrow´s race, the jet set´s race. Barbosa and Nuvolari (Peze bring new components for the cars, here in Monaco) completed third row, while Thomas Kost and the other Kartunnen´s Peze car will have 7th and 8th starting positions.

Like in South Africa, this could be a decisive race for the championship. Todorov hopes to wing and so Remedio who still has many chances. The race will have 60 laps and 2 stops. As you know this is a tough track for overtaking, so we´ll let´s see if the Caccere team is ready for another assault on Team Bulgaria.

Re: GP2 Racing World - Monaco GP - Qualifying!

Post by racer63 »

Rick vd Woldenberg wins at Monaco and Todorov or Remedio got nothing

Almost a boring race in Monaco, except for a superb driving of both dutch drivers. Rick vd Woldenberg won a challenging race against Todorov, who was dominated by the DRTW - Viper cars most of the meeting. Remedio couldn´t add points for the second race in a row as Todorov. The championship is again at the same point as before. Andreas Schulz got a podium with the second position, while the new aero elements for the Peze Team paid off with the third step in the podium for Karttunen.

At the start the dutch cars were very fast and left Todorov in third, while Remedio was behind.

Closing the first lap, both dutch drivers in front, Todorov, Remedio, Kost, Barbosa and a optmistic Nuvolari.

Jurg vd Woldenberg and some problems with the barriers entering the pool complex.

Image

Nuvolari makes a mistake at last corner and had to enter the pits for repairs in the front wing. The Peze driver never could recover from this.

Todorov still behind both DRTW - Viper

Roberto Remedio is out in the tunnel with the trans blown

Thomas Kost was doing a strong race. Barbosa never could overtake, altough his car was faster.

Image

Todorov, the first driver to enter the pits. He returned in 13th in front of Gemstyke.

These were the positions at the end of first pitstops. Todorov gained one place to Rick Woldenberg and Markus Rotter did a flash stop that bumped him to 5th.

Image

The Monaco´s tunnel had a new asphalt and renowed lghts

Image

Jurg Wondenberg had to say good-bye to the race with another trans problem.

Image

So Todorov and Rick Woldenberg were first and second.

Image

Not a good day for Barbosa today. Here, he´s battling with the KSpeed - Honda of Nico Weidlinger for 9th.

Now is the turn for Markus Rotter for going out of the race

End of second pitstops: Andreas Schulz, Kartunnen and a steady Stunneberg

Todorov out of the race with 4 laps to go. The faces in the bulgarian team box were not friendly after this.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we just have six races to go and both Caccere or Team Bulgaria´s cars are not as reliable as before. Will be a surprise from another team or driver for the next race in Spa-Francorchamps? Stay tunned.

We have to thank to Dieter C. Stauber for this 2000 version of the Monaco track.

For the next race the GP2RW has resolved a little honouring to Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli, naming the Spa race as Dan and Marco´s Belgian Grand Prix. RIP mates.

Dan and Marco´s Belgian Grand Prix
Qualiying
Todorov was the poleman and Rick Woldenberg in second!

Again, a closed qualiying here at the wonderfull Spa-Francorchamps. Under a grey sky the Team Bulgaria started to with the first blow of the weekend with the fastest time. In second, Rick Woldenberg will want another win and Jurg Woldenberg is third. A good session for Kost, placing the german car in fourth, with his team mate Andreas Schulz in fifth. In another superb qualifying, Nuvolari got sixth and the other candidate for the title, Remedio, went for seventh.

Caccere drivers spent their laps enjoying the beautiful scenery and didn't push their cars very hard. After a harsh conversation with team staff, they promise to show improvements in the race

Ok pals. Firstly, I want to say sorry for the delay but had some situations at home that required my attention. The league goes on and the Spa race is done. I´ll post results in a while 8)

Yeah they do well in qualifying, but in the race is another story. Your cars are the fastest but have many failure points.
