Fictious track(s) from the past

Post by Peze »

Hi, this is my first post. It is still fun and addictive to play gp2 years after. I was surprised to found the site and that GP2 has still / again modders.

Here is some pictures of a fictional track which I made almost ten years ago, but never released it. I have made few tracks and this was first complete track with scenery and objects. I'll send the files for download soon.

Thank you for nice words :D

I have mailed the track (called Knot Grove) so it should be in download section soon. It has many turns so over taking chances are few. Here's one more picture from main straight.

Kind of looks a bit like Rouen, which is fine by me as it's my favourite GP2 track :D

Greyhead: Exactly! Now that I recall I wanted then to do similar kind of track like Rouen (I like(d) it too :) what comes to scenery. It is done like in old days when there is no tyre walls, gravel traps etc. instead as if it was in public roads.
--------
I had to check the Rouen track and it seems that i may have used it as base. The objects like pit building and some houses are same shape. Otherwise it's completely redone, but I may have to add note to track info that it is based on Rouen track or even redo it from scratch from one of original circuits like it should be done, but I guess I was newbie in track editing then (other tracks that I did are made from originals). Or not to release it after all, I don't want to use anybody elses work or parts of work as mine :(

Well judging by the screenshots, I'd say it's a vast improvement. As much as I like the Rouen track for GP2, it's far from perfect in terms of track graphics and such, your track looks a lot better.

Here is couple pictures of fictious track which I made after Knot Grove. Style is western like Westsand Road track has. It was nearly finished years ago, but I was not satisfied with the track including layout which I then changed. And now is time to finish the track: cameras and parts of scenery needs adjusting (because of layout changes), also more trees/cactuses and height changes needs to be done. I may 'update' some textures, but there won't be that great or realistic textures like in Westsand.
