Anyone had any experience of this? I recently read the carshape tutorial on Andreas' site and it briefly touched on mapping the 2D car bitmap to the 3D car shape. Would it be possible to draw the bitmap how you like (using my WTCC car set as an example, drawing a saloon car shape in the bitmap, i.e. front end, rear end, sides, bonnet, boot, roof) and then just mapping the co-ordinates of each part of the new bitmap to a saloon car shape? I think this would make drawing bitmaps for other car shapes a lot easier (once you'd worked out the base bitmap to fit on the shape), although it would make the car shapes a bit harder. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Yeah I had a little play around with it earlier and discovered just that, that it only affects the mapping in the shape editor. Bit of a shame, that. If anyone has any idea how to export that to the game it would be, to quote Peter Griffin, "freakin' sweet"!

That's right, it only affects the mapping inside the careditor. Mapping on the real shape is sadly enough not an option. It can't be done...Greyhead wrote:...I had a little play around with it earlier and discovered just that, that it only affects the mapping in the shape editor....

Bugger. The touring car shape would have looked amazing with different mapping.
