By the way - the screenshot was taken on Syracuse track made by you and Andreas. Really great track! Super scenery, the appletrees (?) !!! ... I love it! =D>
It means that I'll be forced to race also some non-championship races in my next season :)

I'd say a Maserati too, in Argentine racing colours (the driver is Gonzalez who was from Argentina)

I can only second that, although I thought at first it was a Ferrari.

You're right! Also rremedio was right about the Maserati A6GCM-53. Yeah, It is!
And the livery - Argentinean national racing colours.
Actually, I don't have any evidence that Gonzalez had used to race with such livery  I've just put him in one team with Onofre Marimon, who drove such car at least during Italian GP, despite it was a works Maserati and should be painted red.
The main reason to use this livery was to make the grid more attractive. Just imagine - first 8 to 10 positions ocupied by Ferraris and Maseratis - all in red, than some blue Gordinis mixed up with few green Coopers, and the rest of green British cars at the end of the pack... But that's the history...

Does anybody know some good sites with race reviews from the 50ies? I know some (grandprix.com), but I would like to get more information.
I'm making the performance calculations for the 1954 carset and want to get them as realistic as possible. Plain statistics of race and qualifying times do not show the full picture. At the first sight it seams that Fangio was having an easy and dominating ride to the title, but in the reality in most races he was strongly chased by leading Ferraris and Maseratis. And only misfortune and technical failures of the others allowed Fangio taking the title with 2 races to go.

I don't know much about the F1 of these times. I own a book about about the early times of F1, but I never really read in it. But I think I will during the next week.

But I like what you're doing. I would like to have special sounds for playing with the set, can you recommend any?

Great to see, how the side ( http://www.grandprix2.de/Carsets/csF1/csf11950.htm ) becomes fuller. \:D/
