Wow you must have a fantastic souvenir! I like this old F1 era. Where were you placed in the circuit?
Yes details are sometimes heavy... as Monza 1984 :/

We where located at the first curve on both years. The 1993er Larrousse was beautiful, the golden colors where not that recognizable in TV and in 1994 it was awesome, what a race Berger spinning out there in free practice (after engine probs), ppl laughing, then in Race Hakkinen Rampage and Berger Winning We still have the stuff we bought there (track magazine and flags, one Senna Flag (brazil flag, his face and imola circuit layout))

I was wondering if anyone has the pre-1986 Monaco curcuit? the one with the faster chicane.

If not I'm preparing to have a go to make it.

I'd really love to see Dubai Autodrome in GP2. Could somebody take on the challenge to make it?

Or maybe we could go back even further........

About monaco new pit-lane:
I've done some tries already last year, but monaco doesn't seem to suit a long pit exit because everytime i try, i get some strange bugs with cars crashing into walls etc...

Also the track has changed more than only the pitlane, so it's better to give it a big update someday...

Found this post from 2007. There were many changes in the layout of the track since then.

"The circuit between the second part of the swimming pool section and La Rascasse was moved 10 metres and completely redesigned for the 2003 race. The S-bends at the exit of the swimming pool section were tightened into a slower right-left chicane. The following year saw the opening of a new, much wider pit lane with by building over the old track between the swimming pool and La Rascasse."

The latest available version of Monaco is the 2000 from Dieter C. Stauber. Hopefully TdK or someone else is able to give it a new try!?

I hate how all of the modern tracks seem to be surrounded in pavement. Just one of many reasons why I hate "modern" racing where everything is based on safety.

Allow me to add Tilke's defense regarding the asphalt run-off areas.

"Street tracks can offer a greater challenge to Formula 1 drivers because they don’t need the kind of compromises found on on permanent tracks, according to racing circuit designer Hermann Tilke.

Asphalt run-off and low kerbs have been criticised for making permanent circuits too forgiving for F1 drivers. However Tilke points out these changes have usually been made for other reasons.

“The tracks must be safe,” he said at the FIA Sport Conference in Manila. “We are not building tracks only for the high-level professional drivers, we’re also building tracks for any kind of drivers, which means amateur drivers, and other drivers that might just want to drive a high performance car.
“With autonomous driving, more people are going to come to tracks to have fun with cars. All of these people have to be safe – not only Formula One. The investor of a track wants to use his track for everybody – not only for Formula One.”

This is business and money talking, and we can't have car racing sidelining the business aspect, unfortunately...

Interesting. I never thought that the "parking lots" next to the track were there to make amateur motorsports safer.

But... the post was not the desired answer to my question regarding Monaco.
