Got a big problem i cant play GP2 now i have a new motherboard after my last one self descructed. I just get an error Message
VDMS Launchpad GP2
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:9196 IP:016f OP:ff 96 ff 20 Choose 'Close to terminate the application.
Now i know with some error messages on old games you click Ignore and the games run smoothly and without probems but this is not the case here.
Could anyone help, I know this is not the ideal place to ask but maybe on of you old die hards have had this problem too, if no-cant can someone direct me somewhere where i can get help thank you
*EDIT* btw I have Windows XP and play the game using the VDMS program

Have you tried DosBox? That program doesn`t work with GP2Lap, but at least you can use the "traditional" GP2.exe
A second possibility is to set up a virtual Win98 PC with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, hope this helps.

DosBox could need a handy cfg-file editor, that`s true Maybe one of the available frontends on the dosbox-site can help you, I never tried any one, so I can`t tell
Great it works now, happy racing
