Gp2 Weather help

Hi all!!

New to the forum!! Glad to join!! As many of you, I´ve been a Gp2 player for many years, it´s been several years since I last played, specially since I started to mess with F1c and then Rfactor came... well... you know... there´re things that never change and Gp2 still remains as the greatest f1 sim ever :)

Well, I just installed Gp2 Weather 32, and when I choose anything that´s not Dry conditions, the steering and throttle/break doesn´t work, the car just get stuck and it´s impossible to drive. Has anyone experienced that or does anybody a solution for this??

I have experienced that, and I have to say I agree with you.

Can anybody help us frustrated wet weather wannabes???

GP2 racing with different wheather modes is a real challenge, guys! \:D/ So for me.

And help is coming up with a new program. "Random Weather Choice 2.0" ist still in progress (including many years of "doing nothing on it").

With this tool you can affect all neccesary ingame graphics and the track grip!

But there is a graphic problem based on the custom designed tracks:
Many of them use their own "dproad_.jam" (tarmac) or "clouda.jam" (sky). The program RWC 2.0 copies a wet version of tarmac and sky to the "gamejams" directory but is unable to copy these files in every special folder ("suz99", "branhtch" for example).

I'm still searching for a solution, I prefer a DOS command with wildcard $$. ](*,)

Another solution:
Install Belini99
Patch the exe with for "Wet race simulation"
Use for your carset the settings from Belinis Wet Races
Use the physics from Belinis Wet Tracks for any track
And make your Wet Races in this GP2 Installation

Or try Matteo Nunziati's GP2WET32.

@ecodrive: I have still a lot of free webspace.
Maybe we can make a site with updated tracks.
A site with "Random Weather Choice 2.0" compatible tracks.
For many tracks it should be very simple to change the paths for road or sky.jam's in the track.dat.

I'm alway from gp2 for a while, but soon I'll be able to come back and you will have a new toll to create wet races. I've analyzed the Belini99 wet patch and I've found out a nice solution.

Something new?
I wonder if there is a solution to create the spray behind the car ... What do you think?

Then you will need bitmaps to follow behind the car, and displayed there. And what to say about rain falling down? :?

Yes to the rain falls it would perhaps not serious not to see but it would be very nice to see the visual effects of aquaplaning behind the cars... for visibility in the rain.

at the moment I have no idea for this.

I had a possible solution in my head.
The man with checkered flag!
But my raindrops looks like snowflakes. :-k
The snowflakes doesn't look realistic, quadratic. 1 snowflake = 1 Pixel.
The track works good with VirtualPC-Win98
but in Dosbox the PO is between 100 and 250.

Why is the flag-man the solution?

The video is great, once again something we've never seen before! Image

Maybe it looks (also) like snow, because of the way it falls down. But I think it could be also heavy rain.

I ask you all to find a game that 13 years after its birth, still shocks us like that.

It's a really nice solution Andreas!! The video of Aida is very realistic. I agree with you
V12-Power.
For the spray behind the car I tried to decrease in acceleration cc setup in a circuit but this is not really playable because the cars become too slow but you would think it is aquaplaning.

This video is really cool. Is there any mod we can download or is it just a one-man/pc-work?
