The flag-man is a "Object" which changed the look eight times.

Eight flag-man jams:

in general we do not use the id's for the flagman when we edit tracks.
But it is possible to place flagmans all over the track.
They wave during the whole race. (Second picture)

Now I have replaced the eight flagman jams with 8 big rain jams.

conclusion: the whole thing is not the perfect solution for rain or snow.
-extreme big jam size
-many "objects" needed (500-something  ) for Aida.
-very high PO on a lot of computers

Seconded, that trick is great =D> I remember a fictional track in snow scenery which could take advantage of this. A pity that GP2 displays the pixels that big :(

There was a non-championship F1 race in the early 1970's that had a snowstorm in the middle of it...

Aha, i was thinking to make it with trees. Make a *.jam bitmap file with an animation in it, so every "tree" bitmap changes 4 times. But this is more clever. Indeed there are some drawbacks, but i don't mind the high PO. On a normal track with lots of buildings and scenery my PO never exceeds the 25-50%. So enough PO left for me!!!

Only the 500+ objects you need to insert is ....

I noticed the first volume of Geoff Crammond's Grandprix F1GP the other day with a run in the rain and I was wondering if it was possible to simulate the same effect of fog in Gp2. Do you think it would be possible to import it or recreate it?

Rain can be made in the same way as Andreas made the snow. But you'll get the same drawbacks. Still no perfect solution.
