Re: MUST READ- Huge dosbox performance improvement for Linux/Windows users
Hey guys, this seems to be a great solution. But where do I put these add-ons? This isn't an add-on. It's a completely different emulator. The instructions are for Linux, but you can download a 32 bit version if you are using windows as well. In that case it will be the same as any typical program ...

Re: the flow of time in gp2
If I have the 32 bit version do you still recommend that I do this? I did some research on what you wrote (because I didn't understand what dosbox:i386 is) but I couldn't find any clear answer so I put it to the side while I was testing out ECE Those instructions are for linux- are you using window...

Re: the flow of time in gp2
make sure you are using the 32 bit version, not the 64... big difference in PO there....

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
So- to summarize
We start GP2, and then I can calibrate my wheel/pedals.
go to quickrace, and I will appear on the grid.
hit "escape" and abandon.
Then I can go and act normal, doing my "non championship race"...
do you concur?

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
Can I ask what your goal is? I agree with your pursuit of realism. Don't be brought down by "wasting" your time trying to figure this out. It's not a waste. I remember with ICR2 I was able to spend a few straight days of testing to figure out how the "yellow flag" bug worked and I was able to fix it...

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
I woke up this morning and I was blown away by the attention this got. I wonder if there is a way to alter the "seed" in memory so we can force more variation? I personally would never use championship seasons, I do all my races one at a time and keep track of the results by spreadsheet. I don't eve...

Yes - 32 bit works better than 64 in windows also.GP2tifoso28 wrote: ↑29.09.2019, 20:56Does anyone know if this is worth trying on Windows? We never stop in our relentless pursuit to optimise dosbox / GP2 settings

Re: the flow of time in gp2
I'm gonna try ECE next time. Daum is probably not great if they hate it so much...lol...I never had any problems but I can't really say that I was ever happy with any DosBox version. Just keep in mind that GP2 is very heavy for DosBox and this may be something Daum handles better but they simply do...

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
Ahhhh!!!- so all I have to do is click quickrace, and when I see the red lights I can exit... literally in fractions of a second? Do I need to wait out anything...?
This is very useful information!
Senna won 10 of 16 races in 1986, it's starting to make sense now.

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
I just did the exact same thing- (ran a full season of races and used a spreadsheet to keep track of points) I did not know about the "quickrace" trick. Can you elaborate on this more? You caught my attention here. I also noticed that 1986 senna, seemed unstoppable. In the driver grip settings I had...

Re: the flow of time in gp2
I've been using a thing called "dosbox ECE" 32 bit for a few months now and it works perfect with gp2. I also use this for icr2. I spend countless hours driving and I couldn't be happier. Timing is dead on.

Re: "bumps" on gp2 tracks?
So I downloaded a version of Mexico City 1992 from the site: Mexico City (Champ Car 2006 + F1 1992) Real-life Track Antonio Pessoa/Thomas Kost The very last turn (it is incredibly fast, almost flat-out all of the time) is like a turn taken from an oval track. It appears to have some banking as well....

Re: teach me about packers
FYI- I tried using assymetrical packers in my setup and it works great. This allows you to have on side of the car prevent it from rubbing on the straightaways when you can set up the car lower with more packers in only the side of the car that needs it. I tried this at Mexico city, where the last t...

Re: understanding and modifying the curbs (kerbs)
I will look at this closer a second time. Track editor is still very new to me, but I am not scared to play around. I remember 25 years ago it seemed so impossible to understand, but now it makes much more sense. Thank you for your attention to detail.
