Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

 Haha Ballestre was completly wrong. I had the same experience when I made the track. I noticed too that the car seems flying when it is in the escape area.. I didn't know how fix it. ](*,) I just raced the 89 Suzuka for the first time (in my 1994 season). Fantastic work. I had a flying car wh...

Re: direct drive wheel

I only play gp2 and icr2. Everything is run through Dosbox ECE which works good with "timed = true" like Ted Meat described. Both games get good resolution like this so I have a wide steering range. I have been using my "primary" wheel (that I bought in 2017) with no problems since then. The only is...

Re: direct drive wheel

I use old logitech wheels. I have 4 spares in my basement for situations incase I might have a problem. Right now I have a set of pedals that the potentiometer for the brake was acting up so I took it apart. It turns out the previous owner had a dog, and dog hair got inside the potentiometer. I clea...

Re: dosbox ece or dosbox svn daum..

Honestly- I like how ICR2 handles randomness so much better than how GP2 does. (both games have strong points and weak points). ICR2 performance can change over the duration of a race or weekend, so drivers can get faster or slower. GP2 seems to pick a general speed for a full weekend, which mostly ...

Re: dosbox ece or dosbox svn daum..

No - I never really continued searching very hard. Gp2 runs so good for me on Dosbox ECE that I am able to get good FPS performance with all graphics on. I had worse FPS performance and the time-flow issue with other options. Regarding the random seed - I wonder if there is a way to do something lik...

Re: Polar moment of inertia of current F1 cars

I study engineering and physics (I am an engineer for a major auto manufacturer in real life). The moment of inertia is something I have thought about tinkering with. I was hoping that raising it would make the car less likely to get unstable in height transition sections (found in many of the origi...

using logged data to adjust high speed dampers?

Does anyone use the logged data to adjust the high speed dampers? I have tried this, but not got it to work sucessfully. Sometimes you can see when the car hits a height transition on the track in the suspension travel values. You can see the car get light which makes it unstable on one end. I am wo...

Re: "snap oversteer" on corners that have height transitions

After racing Hungary today and dealing with catching snap oversteer in the fast left hand turn 5- I am wondering if there is any chance we can use the "polar moment of inertia" editor to reduce the moment of inertia to prevent this from affecting the handling so much.. Do you guys have any opinions?

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

so previously I only took a lap or so around the track, and today I started preparing for a full 100% length race at the 91-93 version of Michael's Montreal. Although I "know the track" from original gp2- it only somewhat carries over to the new version. The realism and accuracy is so good, but it j...

Re: Perfect Grand Prix Track Pack and Game Edit

Didn't it have to be installed from within windows 95? I had it too (when I was a kid). I just can't remember.

Re: Track maps in track selection menu

This is finicky for me as well. But normally I open and save a track in the track editor and it starts working in the game.

Re: Cockpit view problem - please help!

Isn't a cockpit really 2 parts of information?

1 is the actual graphics itself
2 is the layout, or CPD info?

I assume you re-loaded the second part?

That's the weirdest thing, I wish I could help you. Do you keep backups of your game folder?

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

yeah the vanilla montreal was really bad because the chicane was so fast on the back side. Probably the next worst track is Spa with the bus stop chicane being way to fast as well. We already have a good Monaco now.
