Re: new forum for gp2 available

Thank you. It's really sad that grandprix2.de seems to have died, with no updates anymore. I also see the GP2 Discord community as something of a double-edged sword. A few months ago, I downloaded everything from grandprix2.de and burned it onto a DVD. That way, if the website ever disappears, all ...

Re: Ferrari 126cx livery Long Beach 1981

I am doing a 1981 season right now, and for these older cars I find that the number placement is very inconsistent so I kind of modify the design a little bit so the numbers are where they were in the original 1994 carset. Really for me changing carsets is just to have different names and paintjobs....

Re: New jam tool by Comick

Awesome work Comick! I would love to have a new tool to edit objects in gp2. We currently don't fully understand the object format and this greatly limits the ability to make objects from scratch.

new forum for gp2 available

Grandprix2.de appears to no longer allow new registrations, which is unfortunate because there are still people discovering and enjoying Grand Prix 2 today. Because of that, I decided to create a new community at gp2icr2.org. The goal is simple: Preserve knowledge, tools, tracks, and discussions rel...

Re: GP2Mem - live memory editor for GP2 (Safety car/additional slipstream)

Does this mean you now understand where we could edit the EXE to make the regular draft effect weaker? It is too strong in the original game.

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

Montreal 1996 (based on michael82’s 1993 track) I want to start by giving full credit to michael82 for his original 1993 Montreal track. His work is the best version out there, and it made this project possible. With his permission, I used the 1993 version as a base and reworked it into a 1996-accur...

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

Hello Michael - would you be OK with me using your Montreal 1993 as a base to make a Montreal 1998? I was thinking that all I would basically need to do was to remove the fast "casino" corner on the straight in the back and then remake the CC line. I would update the adverts as well.

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

I grabbed TI Aida tonight, thank you! I also ended up finally racing your Interlagos track for my 1998 season I am doing. It was a great race, I love how much attention to detail there is. You are using the "far view" 0xc5 & 0xc6 commands like a champ! Your tracks really make the original microprose...

Re: Learning track editing in gp2 in 2025

Here is an update: I have a CC line and the track is mostly done. I need to figure out how to do the cameras next, and I want to improve a few places on the CC line.

Here is a video of the CC driving around the track.

Re: Making GP2 more realistic with the correct values

Unfortunately 0xDD seems to set the grip for the whole track. I don't think I ever tested having multiples of it tho, so maybe it works. CCs usually have advantage due to height transitions indeed. Also, when the ccline goes through (mostly high) kerbs. Yes agree 100%. I tried multiple instances of...
