That's probably the development slot. I'm pretty sure it wasn't tested enough for me to choose a default slot for it.

The way I would do it would be edit the pitstop strategies in the track file as usual. Edit the number of laps in the track file to half distance and run the race as a 100% race.

yeah to install the tracks you don´t need an editor. Unless you mean the "convert.exe" to install the jams, in that case you have to run it on DosBox.
