Re: Steering Wheel Problem

I agree, the point is to have fun but I want the game to be difficult... and it is. On a different aspect I have to say that I enjoy watching TedMeat videos of full races in its "harddore season". It is quite funny and I like his comments. One last help request : sometimes the games slows down for 5...

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

Do I "cheat" if I still use the F7 control help in the game with the wheel ? I thought I was using the game without any help 25y ago (I am sure for F1 to F6) but now I wonder about F7... the game seems almost impossible without it. Am I the only one ? Should I try to persevere without it or do I pla...

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

OK guys, I am happy to say that I finally succeded setting my brand new Thrustmaster T128 !! Thank you all for all the 'material' existing in this unique forum, I couldn't have done it without this and many hours. For maybe future users benefits, not 100% used to DosBox etc..., here are my stettings...

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

Not good enough at DosBox, I just realized that some actions were needed on the keymapper (CTRL-F1) !?
And not only defining parameters in the config file !!
New hopes…

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

Progress of the day (on the Windows 11 PC). Thrustmaster T128 properly configurated on Windows and operational. DosBox ECE installed. When I calibrate the wheel in GP2 game, everything works... apart from the brake axis !? It is so frustrtating because all the rest works. I have tried many of the op...

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

Thanks mate. Did you have to first install a driver on your Windows PC for your T300 ? In my case (Windows 7 PC) there is no driver for the T128. I did install ECE however. Is my config file still the one from the my original DoxBox 0.74-3 folder ("DosBox 0.74-3 options") ? Or is it somewhere else (...

Re: Steering Wheel Problem

Hi. I bought a Thrustmaster T128 knowing that it could be a long shot to have it working with GP2... and indeed I have some issues. I am playing DOS games with an old laptop still fitted with Windows 7 (I don't use that PC for anything else). Having contacted Thrustmaster, there is no driver for T12...

Re: Lewis Hamilton equals Schumacher and mentions...

Wow, just saw this post yesterday and realized that Lewis mentionned GP2 !? Not my favorite driver but clearly my respect towards him is increasing a lot now. It is a nice tribute to this game that we enjoy so much and which has not been totally overtaken by anything else as far as I know. I am read...

Re: newbie from France

Woops, I didn't realize until yesterday that the carsets were accompanied with, of course, a specific spread of performance between the teams to reflect their respective levels but also, I think, an general increase of performances compared to 1994 levels. Correct ? I was running at Imola with origi...

Re: newbie from France

Just played 30 mins at Monza and I was suprised to experience... bouncing ! Plain and simple. I had that exact visual feeling behind the wheel !?! My settings ultra close to the track are logically leading to this (and my board was worn out). Mercedes engineers and good old Lewis should have played ...

Re: newbie from France

Hi. Just tried some Carset from 2000 (the year I was on track)... well... it's pretty cool ! I was just wondering how to go back to the original 1994 carset from the standard game ? Just in case I wanna feel like when I was playing before. Apart from that I am still impressed by the speed of the gam...

Re: newbie from France

Thanks for the welcome and the tips. So far I am happy with the speed of the game (and the "feeling" of the car) with standard DosBox so I am going to stick with this, unless there is a specific need for installing a modern USB wheel (I will watch the Youtube videos about this) ? Then I need to thin...

newbie from France

Hi everyone. My story is probably similar to many others here. I have recovered last month my original GP2 CD-ROM in a box, after 25 years... I was such a fan of the game, ... can't count how many hours I played (with Thrustmaster T2 wheel of course), F1 was such a passion... to a point that I have ...
