Is there any way to mod GP2 game to another season, say 1999, without using gpedit, for the carsetts and track packs and slots?

If there is could anybody give me a quick guide on what to do.

Update: Okay now, the problem was my gamepad, with the one I was using a cheap gamepad. So the supposed L-stick analogue was acting as keyboard cursor keys. When I race in the practice session instead of the period ending on my specific 90 minutes time the session continues longer to around 105-120 minutes.

Is there anyway to rectify this bug.
