GP2edit Frequently Asked Questions
==================================

Q: When I try to export a car set I get the error message "WILLIAMS.JAM not found!"...???

A: You don't have the editor configured properly. On the Program Configuration screen (Window Menu) you are asked to enter the location of the file GP2.EXE in your main GP2 directory on your hard drive (not on your GP2 cd-rom). You also need at least a Medium installation of GP2 for the editor to function correctly.

Q: After installing a car set the names, numbers and performances are all updated but the outside appearance of the cars is unchanged...???

A: You probably have a Minimum installation of GP2. For some strange reason when you choose the Min installation the car graphic (JAM) files are installed to your hard drive but the game actually uses the ones on your GP2 cd-rom. You need at least a Medium installation of GP2 for the editor to function correctly.

Q: After installing a car set I load a saved game (or championship) and the names and cockpit colours get messed up...???

A: When you save a game in GP2 the names and cockpit colours (???) also get saved in the files.

Q: The Launch GP2 button/menu option doesn't work...???

A: You need to have a PIF file for GP2.EXE in your GP2 directory. You should already have one but if you don't you can create one by 'right-clicking' on GP2.EXE and selecting 'Properties'. Make sure in the 'Program' section the Working directory is set to your GP2 directory. In Windows 3.xx you will need to create a PIF file using the PIF editor.
