Not GP2-related, but I've written a short (and foul-mouthed) piece about the Sauber / van der Garde situation, including a brilliantly simple solution, over on Wordpress.

Looks brilliant! Do you have any idea on when you'll release it?

Thanks!

I'm hoping to get it finished before Christmas, but we'll see I suppose...
I have done a few more cars since the last post - the #3 and #12 Penskes, and all the Indy-only entries have all been completed. All that's left are cars from Dale Coyne, KV and AJ Foyt, while the Sarah Fisher Hartman and Bryan Herta Autosport cars are half-done.

I am simply awestruck at your GP2 car editing skills. The guys over at the Indycar Racing 2 (icr2) forums are having a go at it as well, but you are way ahead of what they've accomplished so far. I'm thinking it's somewhat easier to modify carshapes in GP2 in comparison to ICR2. However, I've seen some pretty impressive carshape mods for ICR2. The Outlaw Racing carshape mods are a good example of what can be done with ICR2.
Thanks for all the work you've done to help keep the GP2 community alive and kicking.

Well then...

ALL THE CARS ARE FINALLY COMPLETED!

I didn't realise how many there are: I've just counted and there are 195 car bitmaps. Not bad considering there were only about 23 cars during most of the season. No wonder it's taken so bleedin' long...

Just a few helmets to paint now, then it'll all be done. About time too!

Here's a few cars from the St. Petersburg race.

IT'S FINALLY FINISHED!

I've sent the completed work over to be posted on the main site, but until then you can download it from here if you simply can't wait:

What's that? A quick preview, you say? Oh, go on then.

The 2014 IndyCar carset is now available to download over on grandprix2.de.

http://grandprix2.de/Carsets/IRL/IRL.htm#2014

It's the first carset I've done for a while so I'd be interested to know what people think of it!

I think it is great! I really like the carshape, expecially from the front it looks like watching the real car :)
Are you planning an update to the 2015 or 2016 season with the new bodykit?

Thank you for what you are doing for this game :)

Indeed, this is fantastic! The shape looks great in the game and you even added all the alternative liveries and lineups. =D>

Hopefully, I will have some races soon \:D/

Thanks folks!

I'm not planning on doing the new bodykit at the moment; it's quite a bit more complicated than the 2012-2014 shape with all the aero bits and pieces, so given the limitations of the GP2 carshape it might be a bit of a step too far. Although I may yet still give it a go in the future...

My next plan is a return to some sort of touring cars. I'm currently looking at doing one from the 1980s - perhaps the ETCC or something.

Well, I did indeed plump for something touring car-related - the 1986 European Touring Car Championship, to be exact. The carshape is well on its way to being completed, I've worked out all the driver and car performance stats, so it will soon be time to do some painting...

Hi everyone

Nice to see this site and GP2 are not dead. Came here after all this years and saw the great work being done with carsets. Congrats to all of you mates.

Couldn`t resist... reinstalled GP2, did the first three championship races... didn`t finish all of them. Two because of mechanical problems, the other thanks to a stupid move of Comas being lapped send me airbone
