New points allocation:

DRTW - Viper will have 35 more points.

AS TK - F1 BMW will have 45 points assigned.

Caccere: 80 points.

I´ll update Minarae with 15 points.

Todorov, Arabajiev and Schiavon will get points for being in the podium at US GP: 30, 20, 10 and each one of this drivers will get the same failure points.

And that´s all fellas. Points allocation closed  Qualifying in a while!

Canadian GP Qualifying: Tim de Klein and Simtek Ford are back at Mosport

Mosport, the canadian historical track is the battlefield for the GP2RW this weekend. And being his best finish place 4th (in Australia) Tim de Klein started more than well with the pole, beating one of the ever hard to beat DRTW - Viper with R Woldenberg and the winner of many of the last races in a row, Georgi Todorov. Jens Dings is 4th and another surprise from Joe Rotter, in 5th with a renewed Minarae. Barbosa´s Caccere reached 6th, while Stunenberg, Emerson dos Santos, Tonio Pessoa and Roberto Remedio complete the first ten positions in the grid.

This is not Tim de Klein :? , but Alex Diehl in the Mosport track

The race will have 72 laps with only two pitstops. This is a short circuit, but the venue is very fast with just one, but very hard braking point, so will be a hard race for the drivers and specially for the tyres. This is the first grid not dominated by a Team Bulgaria car in many races.

I think we will have an action full race with plenty of overtakes and maybe some crashes because of the very fast corners.

Rick Woldenberg won in Canada - Black day for Team Bulgaria and critics to race officials from Simtek - Ford

Rick Woldenberg had a very important win in Canada thinking of the championship while Todorov had no points thanks to a puncture early in the race. Roberto Remedio gets second and a superb Antonio Pessoa gives good points to Liberty - Chevrolet, starting from ninth. Some crashes and a general concern on Mosport´s pit exit will be a discussion topic for the days to come.

Start of the race. De Klein keept first position, while Todorov and Woldenberg were wheel to wheel behind. Jens Dings puts the car for the inside of turn 1 and attacks Woldenberg.

Image

First corner de Klein still in the lead and Woldenberg keeps the fight with Todorov, but on next corner Todorov gains the place. Dings, Joe Rotter and Leo Barbosa complete the first six places.

Image
Image

Todorov tries to mount an attack over de Klein.

Image

Suddenly Todorov slowed down and... is out of the race with a puncture.

Image

Woldenberg overtaked de Klein on next lap and the Simtek´s front left wheel was enough to cause a pitstop. The chances of Tim de Klein went to zero in a moment.

Image

The positions in the first stint. Woldenberg takes the lead, Joe Rotter finds the second place, but Barbosa had a nice duel with the Minarae. Note that Pessoa and dos Santos were opening their way through the pack; in the second image, Pessoa overtaking Remedio´s Caccere.

Image
Image

A very interesting group here. From the fourth Jens Dings to the thenth position, the K.Speed of Rickard Alingas.

Image

Henning Fisser had a frigtning spin on the first corner. Luckily didn´t smash the guard-rail and continued.

Image

Joe Rotter was doing well in second, resisting the attacks of Barbosa.

Image

The positions for lap 15. Dings, dos Santos and Remedio giving a good show for the crowd.

Image

M.S.R. Racing dindn´t have a good day. The Stig didn´t start the race and Schiavon had to go out with mechanical problems.

Image

The first move that caused a lot of discussion with the officials. David Stunnenberg was leaving the pits and was crashed by Leo Barbosa. Unfortunatelly the car lost a rear wheel, leaving the race.

Image

Tim de Klein was very far from the head positions but found Markus Rotter leaving the pits. A similar accident to the Stunneberg´s and both Simtek out of the race. Team principal had an intense discussion with the officials and the GP2RW representatives, for the pit exit invading the race line of the track.

Image

With Stunneberg out of the way and the first pitstop done there were many cars in a few seconds. Jens Dings heads this group.

Image

Bad news and a pitty for K -Speed. Rickard Alingas was sixth but the engine didn´t resist.

Image

This is Andreas Schulz fighting with Nuvolari. Note the canadian crowd all around the track.

Image

Rick Woldenberg entering pits for the second pitstop. He had no problem recovering first position later.

Image

Pessoa and Dings, provisional first and second.

Image

Arabajiev lost the front wing hitting a kerb at Moss Corner. The surviving bulgarian car had a bad race today.

Image

Jens Dings ruined his race at the same kerb, and Henning Fisser does the same.

Image
Image

Dos Santos leaves the track for a mistake, giving the chance to Alex Diehl of taking tenth position and the last point, from last on the grid.

Image

Rick Woldenberg and the checkered flag.

We give thanks to Malcolm Styles for this track. Next race will be in Mexico in the Hnos. Rodriguez track. Another historical venue with a very long straight and some interesting corners to drive. And just one race before the Le Mans Special.

Points allocation ends now. Nobody will give points this week, neither my team Minarae. So just R Woldenberg, Remedio and Pessoa will get race points thanks to the past race result.

Qualifying for Mexico in a few minutes :D

Todorov comes back in Mexico and gets the pole

Between nice señoritas and a revamped Hnos Rodriguez track -last time used by CART-, we´re at one more race of GP2RW and a new pole for Todorov who recovers from the US GP, his worst race. All the best opposition, the Caccere team and the dutch DRTW - Viper team are behind Todorov on the grid, while both Minarae are in their year´s best start position. We all know that Todorov is not as good starter as long race haul driver, so maybe something could happen on the long start/straight from the very beggining. On a sad note Peze Team had on track problems, so both cars are out for this one.

Todorov do it again and gets some more points to the championship

A boring race with almost no fight for postions and a lot of tactical warfare. This was the race at Mexico won by Todorov, who makes a bigger gap in the drivers positions. Roberto Remedio and Leo Barbosa were at the podium too, but 21 seconds behind the leader :?

At the start Remedio was first but this time Todorov kept the nerves down and simply continued in the same line for the Caccere to go to the left and took the first position in the first corner.

Image

The pack in the first lap. Todorov, Remedio, Rick Woldenberg, Barbosa and Pessoa

Image

Barbosa trying to get the position against Woldenberg but the dutchman resisted very well

Image

Todorov was gaining distance and for lap 5 Remedio was almost two seconds behind

Image

Three in a row! The Stig, Stunnenberg and Alingas. This track is very wide.

Image

Rickard Alingas and Joe Rotter at the Parabolica

Image

And insane move by Remedio. Entering the track from the pits, The Stig has a bad time trying to avoid the Caccere. This time only was a reprimend. Next time the officials will be more stricts

Image

First pitstops; Rick Woldenberg returning to the track.

Image

Jens Dings provisional leader.

Image

Both AD- Heave running together and having some fight.

Image

Second round of stops and Todorov had plenty of gap to emerge comfortably in the first positions.

Image

Pessoa and Woldenberg in a short duel. The Liberty - Chevrolet was good but the DRTW Viper was better in the end.

Image
Image

Rick Woldenberg out of the race with an electrical problem

Image

Pessoa tried to recover the position against Woldenberg. Joe Rotter expecting

Image

Rickard Alingas again has problems in the car. This time was the transmission. Very bad luck for K-Speed in the last races.

Image

Andreas Schulz could claim the last point with the retirement of Alingas.

Image

Todorov and a little mistake that didn´t put his race in danger.

Image

Finally... Todorov at the finish line.

Thanks to Antonio Pessoa and Thomas Kost for this version of the mexican track. This and every track used in this league can be downloaded from grandprix2.de

Now to the next race. We´ll go to France, to a race that is a classic of resistence, but adapted to GP2RW: Le Mans. You have the following week to decide aditional points allocation. This race will be tough and long but will give double points. Thanks to all and have a nice weekend.

Possible grip points allocation for Le Mans:

Let´s start by giving the maximun points each team can give to their drivers for Le Mans.

Team Bulgaria, Caccere and DRTW - Viper can not give any more points as they reached the max.

K-Speed has just 6 points given to Rickard Alingas till now. This team can allocate max 74 points to Alingas and 80 points for the other car.

M.S.R. has 10 points given, so this team can have a max of 70 points for both cars.

There´s a particular situation with AS-TK F1 - BMW because I did a mistake. Andreas asked for 60 more points for the Canadian GP and I just gave 45 to each car. So this team will have 15 more points for both cars in Le Mans.

Minarae (my team) can have up to 25 points.

All the rest: can give up to 80 points for Le Mans or the following races as stated in the rules.
