Motorcycle Racing Seasons. What if...

...Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rayney, Mick Doohan, Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, Giacomo Agostini etc. were all DRIVING instead of RIDING?
Ever thought of it?
I did. And as I saw the work of Tobe Frim (http://grandprix2.de/Carsets/trans/transform.html - Motorcycle Season 2000 500cc) I thought I wasn't the only one.
So I started with a year (1990) and I worked a little on a McLaren to make it look like a 1990 Marlboro Team Roberts' Yamaha. Oh, it was no big effort, but every long walk starts with a single step. So this is the result, more to come.
What do you think? Interesting idea?

Thanks for the feedback! This night the second team should be ready, Team Lucky Strike Suzuki (Kevin Schwantz & Niall Mackenzie). I'll post here the cars as soon as they are ready.
BTW, is there someone who can provide a website with technical specs for moto gp / 500cc seasons?
Example: to calculate grip range, power, failures etc. for Formula One I'm using http://www.statsf1.com which is pretty complete in terms of data.
I did not manage to find a similar website for Moto Gp, especially for tech specs.
At the moment I let all BHP to 780/790 (original Gp2 values) and mechanical failures to 5000 for every "moto". This will provide sensational races, full of overtakes - as a good Moto GP race would provide - and I calculate the grip range according the average points per race of each driver involved in the carset. Also, random grip range is based on the difference between this average and the mode & median of the results of each driver. This to preserve both randomness but also reality in final results.
The 780/790 BHP gives also an advantage: I can use more than one driver per race/championship. In fact I'm dealing with a 1954 F1 season, BHP were very low then (250 BHP). If I use one single driver there is no problem, but if I chose two or more driver, when there is the first "seat change" during the race the BHP automatically revert to 780, this resulting in unrealistic races. And it seems this problem is unavoidable. :-k
Anyway... see ya later with updates!

Ok here it is my current work schedule on this carset.

Marlboro Team Roberts v. 1.1 - OK (switched car numbers + fixed minor graphic bugs)
Team Lucky Strike Suzuki v. 1.1 - OK (fixed minor graphic bugs)
Team Sonauto Gauloises Blondes Mobil1 v. 1.0 - OK
Ducados Yamaha Team v. 1.0 - OK
Team Rothmans Honda v. 1.0 - OK

Team Campsa Banesto v. 1.0 - TBA
Cagiva Corse v. 1.0 - TBA
Team ROC-ELF-La Cinque - TBA

There will be another 12 drivers as wild cards, for various minor teams, replacement etc.
All these drivers will be paired according to their moto (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki etc) and given a "generic" car livery.
My pc is actually under maintenance, I'll be back - I think - soon.

I suggest to use even 250 and 125 drivers if you want. :D

Eh I thought of it, but in the nineties there were LOTS of teams with single drivers.
For example, in 1990, on 125cc category there were just Capirossi (1st) and Gresini (7th) on the same team, then Spaan (2nd), Prein (3rd), Romboni (4th), Raudies (5th), Martinez (6th) they were all on a single-moto team. Same goes for 250cc category. That means that only the 500cc is a little more coherent with what we are used to see on Gp2 world, i.e. two-cars teams.

Team Cagiva Corse 1.0.
Also, new 1990 carshape. I had to silghtly review some of the liveries to fit to the new carshape.

Nice idea, I like it. The new carshape is more 1990-like, so it fits really good. A 2011 MotoGP carset would also be great.
