Thanks everyone. HF, do you mean my avatar pic? That's Dario Franchitti's IndyCar from 2006.

I only recognized Franchitti's helmet, but I didn't knew that it is his IndyCar...

The GP2 cars look really good, seems they are very well made (-> with this I mean you can't see single pixels were for example white goes over into blue because you softened everything). I like that very much, it's exactly how I work, too.

I would have probably included the big winglet in the bitmap, but if you make it or leave it depends on the style of the painter, so I think it's ok like this as well.

Maybe you could install a new carshape that looks more than the GP2-series-carshape!? That goes for the IndyCar as well, then we would have maybe recognized it as IndyCar ;-) I dunno if you ever used other carshapes than the original one, if not I would suggest you to give it a try, it's not to difficult!

BTW: Is that GP2-series carset your first work!? By the quality it has I would say no...

Thanks for your feedback V12 Power. All comments gratefully received!

Yes I try to soften everything, I find it looks infinitely better! As for doing the winglets / bargeboards etc, I have tried to draw those in the past but I find it quite difficult to get them looking right, I just stick to doing the basic liveries of the cars. Anything for an easy life!

As for carshapes, I don't have a GP2 shape, although I do have an IRL shape somewhere. I'll post some pics of my IRL cars with that carshape if you want. I don't really like using other carshapes, as they distort the bitmaps a bit too much for my liking.

There's a GP2 carshape included in Thomas Kost's 2005 GP2 carset, if you're interested and want to take a look:

I like the cars, too, by the way. :)

I agree with you in some point, but I don't think all other carshapes have this negative effect.

I once made a shape for the 1991 season (didn't publish it yet). I checked every step I made in the game and so the bitmap wasn't streched in any detail. But I once downloaded a 1991 carshape and it was absolute horror, the bitmaps looked terrible with it.

I'll upload my 1991 carshape here, if you want you can check it out and then tell me what you think about it. I'll post a pic in another topic, otherwise there would be offtopic-alarm here I guess..

Thanks AD. It's nice to see all the positive feedback! If anyone has any tips on how to improve them then feel free to tell me.
V12-Power, I'll have a look at your carshape as well.
