BTCC 1995 carset

Post by Greyhead »

Well, all you BTCC fans, I finally got this carset under way! I only started yesterday but I've already sorted out all the data, and drawn the works Alfas and Fords. Work is progressing very nicely and I hope to have this carset done within a few weeks.

Great news! BTCC rules!

And it will fit nicely a new track I'm working on... :)

Excellent news!

I am about to continue with my 1998 carset so hopefully they should both be ready relatively soon!

Remembers me of the times i used to play TOCA by codemasters. Great game, and the classic BTCC was an awesome series

The physics simulation of those games always seemed weird to me, but that didn't discourage me from playing them. Unfortunately, it appears you'd have to do the usual spell-performing and goat-sacrificing-like stuff to get it working on modern computers. So, it's awesome to see some of this series in GP2 format. So I'll, too, be looking forward to it, even though time to actually play and enjoy has grown short these days...

Yeah you're right AD, the behaviour of the cars never seemed quite right at times in the TOCA games. But at the time there weren't exactly loads of other games with touring car racing in them, apart from arcade-style racers like Fatal Racing which were totally unrealistic (although Fatal Racing was great fun). I never could quite get the hang of the Ford Fiestas in TOCA 2, no matter how slow I took certain corners I'd end up on my roof!

Loving the preview Andreas! How did you manage to get all those pictures without all the bugs in the car shape?

Ingame screenshots. (gp2lap-F12) I push and hold F12 in a turn. Some screenshot are bugfree.
Then I remove the asphalt with some clicks in paint.

Nice carset. Thank you. =D>

Been pretty quiet on the forum lately! Anyway, I've just sent a new version of this carset to Andreas, to be honest I didn't test the original one very much and the grip values weren't very accurate, resulting in John Cleland destroying everyone in every race. The new version has improved grip values so the racing should be closer, and a few other drivers can actually win races now...
