I changed the physics for this carset (in the excellent gp2magic) in order to force the car to brake a little bit sooner. (Change "brake distance" from the original value 22000 to 16000 maybe) It seems more realistic.
I'm interested in this- I would like to make the cars a little slower in corners to match older physics better.... can you link this program? I have not been able to find it.

Montreal is one of those tracks that changed layouts like I change my socks. Seems every few years there was a change.

I am doing Long Beach for ICR2 now. I started with the 91 layout, then I'm moving to 96, 99 and 2000.... so I get what you mean.

It does save time when you do several versions of the same track because a lot of the material can be re-used...

(PS - I don't wait a few years to change my socks - but you get what I am trying to say!!!)

Yes it is very usefull to reuse the track materials. I used the original f1ct06 Canada track but in several places the curves are wrong. I'm happy to release this new track because I always liked Montréal and before we didn't have a realistic track of 1994 (with the chicane, the same for Spa and Barcelona). The track is almost ready.. miss just some objects and adverts. I hope you will appreciate as the fantastic modern Montréal track of Antonio.

How much easier is it in gp2 to make a similar layout once you get a certain version of a track right? I know in ICR2 it saves a ton of work when you go from one version to another as long as they are close.

It depends of the maps and in the places where you must make a modifiction. I mean I have to keep the data of the "underlay bitmaps maps" of each layouts version of the track. Otherwise you don't have the same angles and dimensions. If you take the good disposition you dont lose too much time. Each section modified modify the rest of the track..

Thanks Michael for another one of your Masterpieces :D :D :D and a great way to start the new (racing) year!
I have only one problem, I don´t know if I´m the only one, but one of the jams seems to be corrupted (trees.jam) I had to take it out of the folder to load the track, otherwise the game would freeze on the loading screen.

Even without that jam I could really appreciate your work and it really gives you the impression of being back in that era! Amazing =D> =D> =D> I can´t wait to try the other versions of Montreal too.

One question regarding what samsepi0l was talking, once you have changed the layout how complicated is it to reposition the objects around the track? Are there just coordinates and the repositioning can be done even by someone with no experience in track editing or is it more complicated?
