The helmets are indeed smaller, but not very much.

Minichamps uses a very strange form of helmet nowadays, which is very wide when viewed from the front and too small when viewed from the side.
It just doen't look right, but what can you do?

That looks good, pretty much the right size helmet compared to the car.

In my eyes your carshape was good enough.

But the shape with the longer nose looks,honestly said, better. Very good.

Only thing that might be a little better looking and more realistic, is if the frontwing gets a bit "bigger", with that I mean is that the endplates get closer to the frontwheels.
But I don't know if that is possible, because I don't have the actual shape that Dan has made now.

I think the carshape looks very good now. Cool that you made also a oval-aero-spec carshape! I think it's very pretty.

Greetings. About time I gave everyone an update on this carset. It's not far off being finished now, unfortunately I had a little scare just over two weeks ago when my PC exploded... Turned out the power supply had blown and the shop told me it had destroyed the hard drive, meaning all my work was lost... I got the computer back today and it turns out that it was actually my spare hard drive, which I never used anyway, that had died so all my work is still here!

Wow, blessing in disguise! I've recently made a backup of all my data. But some years ago I lost several pictures I didn't back up. That was annoying. So it's nice to hear you haven't lost anything!

Carset is (finally) complete and on it's way to Andreas.

Excellent news! I've only tonight realised that the most recent IRL set I'm using is 2006. So I'm really excited about this!!

Well I hope the 2008 one is a big improvement on my 2006 one! Doing the WTCC cars has taught me a lot about shading and stuff, so while they aren't exactly up to the standard of DJS, TdK or FK, they're better than they were (hopefully).
