2018 Carset with reverse grids!

Post by bb49 » 24.12.2017, 13:39

My 'pre-emptive' 2018 carset is a work in progress. Here it is with reverse grids. I think I have figured out how to do the entire carset

Because GP2 needs more than ten teams, I have 4 fake teams.
A) a full blown works Alfa Romeo team, with Verge and Giovinazzi, as they are the two most recent Scuderia test drivers
B) Caterham, as a junior Renault team, with Kubica and Rowland, because they are/were both Renault afiliated
C) Manor, with Wehrlein and Rosenqvist
D) An Aston Martin works team. The car is very appealing, and, has drivers Felipe Nasr and Josef Newgarden, who, in my opinion, should be the two drivers Williams have for 2018.

All cars are painted by me but there still afew Gargarin helmets, such as Hamilton, Bottas, Vettel, Raikkonen, etc.

Introducting:Formula 1.5 - 28 of the best drivers in the world, that aren't in Formula 1 at the moment. Many manufacturer teams. A few helmets are not mine but at least 20 of them are, and all cars are mine.

These are very nice and even include some helmets that I find quite useful! I'll soon share a fictional 2018 carset for my own personal career game, so it may be a part of this tally.

Happy New Year, all!
In attachment there's my fictional 2018 carset. Please mind the fictional plot:

In late 2015, FIA "nationalized" F1 back from CVC, FOCA and all Bernie Ecclestone's stuff. FIA runs F1 like FIFA runs football. Costs were slashed, the aero problem that comes from the mid nineties was solved, we have refuelling and no DRS just like 1994. Ferrari trhreatened quitting, and FIA showed them a large open door.
Red Bull left F1 at the end of 2015, as they threatened throughout that year. They sold Red Bull Racing to Google and Toro Rosso to Flavio Briatore.
Alfa Romeo is an independent company and bought Sauber.
Audi bought Force India.
New teams: Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Ecclestone which only hires pay drivers to get money from them.
Is this alternative universe, Honda and McLaren are very competitive. Rosberg was not a champion in 2016, Hamilton made a sabatic in 2017 and got back to Ferrari. I call it "Max Verstappen Super Monaco Grand Prix 2" because Verstappen is touted to be the best driver ever.
Coca Cola, being a branding exercise of people who love racing, decided to give a career prize (to the amazing Tarquini who won a TCR race in 2017, 22 years after leaving F1) and a second chance, because everyone deserves one (Palmer). The pairing will problably be changed during the year, as Tarquini is in it just for the fun and the love of racing, and Palmer is Palmer.

Please note that this is not quite an design exercise. I did not pay atention to cockpits nor to helmets, as there are now some new helmets (like Newgarden) around but had made most of this before they appeared. This could be improved a lot.

By the way, does someone know a way to change game trackmaps in Windows 8.1?
