Argh. I hate those noses. Do the front-wingreally be more viewable? I don't think so!

Well at least it's easy to build them with Lego.

Well, at least there are interviews out there now that suggest the teams are realising this is a compromise that pleases no one, and that the argument of teams that might want to reuse their 2011 monocoque at the "old" height with a new nose lowered because of the crash safety concerns, won't be a huge practical concern, anyway.
So I'm hoping they'll sit down and find a way to at least change this for next year, when they debate regulations changes for '13.
I doubt they'll have every team go through the relevant crash tests again this year, just to make the cars look a bit less unattractive, though.
Still, I find it interesting that even on such an arbitrary design feature, every team produced different executions of the same basic idea and shape, including this curious RBR and/or Sauber variant with the slots that supposedly are to keep the airflow reattached over the step between nose and monocoque. So they're engineering and developing even the design features the cars don't actually need...

Man, no new news in the last days *shame* But the very new F1 season has begun in Melbourne with the 1st & 2nd Training.

Yeah, as usual, no big news for a couple of days, while basically everyone involved in the sport has to travel halfway around the world...
I thought this was a fine first race weekend, though. I was impressed by the pace of some of the mid-field cars. And it's good to see that the "It's an unusual track for the first race, always" statements turned out true once again and everybody's prognostications of what the order of the top teams should be after Spain testing turned out a bit inaccurate, anyway.
Some of the variables will ease down over the next few races, obviously. Put Ferrari, Lotus and Mercedes in a position where they can use their cars' potential in a race and there wouldn't be a Williams or a Sauber that high up in the points. So I don't think we should be getting another round of "Could this actually be the best season EVER?" articles in the news media the next few days, just because the first result of the year turned out a bit unusual.

Pretty interesting race. Both McLarens & Seb on the podium. Just a pity that Schumi retired & Nico had a puncture.

Mercedes didn't perform well in race.
McLaren and Red Bull are on top. (Webber poor star as usual
)
Toro Rosso good race performance.
Force India a bit disappointing.

Well... Rubens managed many times to arrive "just" behind Schumi.
But what about Massa?
...I feel I can overtake him with my Fiat Punto.
In third gear.
With my arm outside the side window, holding a cig.
And the other hand holding the phone.
Thus, holding the wheel with my knees.
