There are a lot of nice stories told on this site. The Andrea Moda is a good one, but there were many other bad teams around back in the days. I hope that Manor and Campos Grand Prix won't become one of those...

Really nice site, I've been familiar with it for quite some time. Shows well there are many stories to tell about the sport, that it's not necessarily most interesting to hear so much only about the big, successful teams. :)

I think it's good that modern scrutinizing for potential new teams seems different from just having them pay a high entrance fee. If the articles from the last weeks were somewehat accurate, they really examined every potential team, not just in terms of what kind of financing they'd have, but also what kinds of facilities and personnel they would have to maintain such a team for a longer period of time.

Yeah but you have to wonder what the criteria were that the FIA used to assess the new teams. Not one of the new teams coming in has designed and built their own car. Nick Wirth hasn't been involved in F1 since the late 1990's with Benetton. Adrian Campos only has F1 experience from racing on the same weekends with his former GP2 team, although he does have Dallara onside. And USF1 has very little on the face of it to qualify for an entry. Especially when you think that Lola, Prodrive, Epsilon Euskadi etc all have experience of designing and building cars, Prodrive's David Richards was involved in F1 until very recently, and N.technology came up with the Formula Master series, which will be on the F1 bill soon as GP3.
