Superleague Formula

Post by HF »

Do you know anything about this series? It combines soccer with motorsport! Clubs can buy a car and have a team which will race against other soccer teams. For more info click here: http://superleagueformula.com/

The first german club had signed: Borussia Dortmund (I'm really proud  )

I remember this was mentioned in MSa once or twice, but I didn't know or wasn't interested in the progress of this yet.

It's an idea that seems to have been out there for some time, I think I remember talk about something like this from the 90s...
1996 .. 2017 .. 21 years and counting ..

In '90s there was the Premier Series (or something like that), which did not come to reality.

I've saw a picture from the Milan car for this new series (Superleague) with Paolo Maldini at its side.

This Borussia Dortmund car it's looks really good. Slick tires! It's always good to see them. The body looks like a F1 car...

It will never happen, a soccerteam racing formula.
And you know why  :
Because the grandstands would have to be fenced and devided in parts for every single club.

Yeah I remember the Premier1 Series, they had a few teams interested (Barcelona, Porto and Leeds United had signed up I think). The car was designed and built by Reynard who went out of business shortly after which helped scupper the series. I believe the GPMasters chassis is closely related to the Premier1 car.

I'm looking forward to Northampton Town's entry...

If you've never heard of Northampton Town or know nothing about football, they are the best team in England and recently won the Premier League and FA Cup

Thank you Carlos!

About the Superleague, you don't need to know the portuguese language to realize there's something strange here...

Here's the Milan car....let's see how many sponsors they will get with those 3d computer paintings...they could use diferent views for each car, at least.

At first I was not so keen on this (stolen) idea.
It's growing on me and now my favourite club has joined, it's all good.
Just a bit worried if it'll really come together (remembering Premier1...). :?

Here is a link to a video (in Dutch) from the PSV website.
With a real car in it, no "fake" pictures.....
