The first GP2RW race was the first win for Jens Dings. The win was not easy altough he was the poleman. Nuri Hummels won the first place on the start, on the third turn and a strong Antonio Pessoa let Dings in third place in just a few corners.
The running order on lap 2 was Hummels, Pessoa, Dings, a very fast Nuvolari and the young bulgarian driver Teodorov.
But Hummels was about to loose the first place to Pessoa...
...and started to have problems with the front brakes.
Meanwhile, one of the first problems at turn 7, one of the toughest parts of this track.
Antonio Pessoa went early for fresh tyres and fuel, so this let the open door for Dings and Nuvolari. Later, this was the running order:
Dings was having a good day and for lap 20 the gap on Nuvolari started to grow.
This four drivers were giving some show to the spectators, for the 4th position
Rotter taking Pessoa, from Andreas cockpit
Roberto Remedio was one of the retirements with a blown suspension
Pessoa let the front somewhere in Australia...
Nobody in sight behind Ding´s car. Almost 16 seconds over Teodorov.
10 laps for finish and this was the order on the track. Nuvolari was closing on Rotter and Klein
...and moves over Klein
Fisser´s engine on fire in the closing laps
Five laps to finish and the positions so far.
Nuvolari and a last try against Teodorov
Finally, Jens Dings crossed the line and is his first win in GP2RW!
