What a great result for our team catching the pole at our home grand prix. Our work at the factory pays of.

Georgi Todorov takes the flag in the Dutch GP

In a superb driving, young bulgarian Todorov won in Netherlands keeping Jurg vd Woldenberg at bay and gaining important points for the champìonship. Runner up was Jurg vd Woldenberg and Roberto Remedio completed the first three steps on the podium.

Start of the race: Nuvolari goes for the inside, winning the sprint to the first corner. In a very good start, Petri Karttunen keeps the tail of his team mate´s car and Todorov mantains his position behind Woldenberg.

Image

But later, Waldenberg and Todorov overtake Karttunen thanks to the a driver´s mistake

Image

Start of lap 2 and Nuvolari is in first. Todorov takes Waldenberg and the AD-Heave can be seen 3 seconds behind.

Image

One lap later, Todorov overtakes Nuvolari, starting the great race of the Bulgarian.

Image

But Jurg Waldenberg doesn´t surrender and overtakes Nuvolari.

Image

In lap 10 the order was the same. It was a steady race, till now.

Image

Lap 13 and the first car out: Marco Schiavon and the MSR Honda

Image

Almost in the same time, Alex Diehl parks the AD at the front straight with the engine gone

Image

The dance of pitstops started with Todorov going to the pits on lap 18. The strategy was an important factor for Team Bulgaria with this car.

Image

One of the Minarae going high

Image

Antonio Pessoa pushing Jurate Gemskyte to the outside at Tarzan, with Pessoa leaving the pits. This incident was under investigation.

Image

Woldenberg came back to the track in 4th, behind Tim de Klein. Here, the dutch driver try to overtake with no success. Todorov and Nuvolari at the front. Note the good position of the K Speed Honda of Fridtjof Knirsch, being already stopped in the pits.

Image

de Klein was a hard bone for Waldenberg

Image

Leo Barbosa overtakes Knirsch

Image

Another victim of Zandvoort: Stunnenberg´s Simtek explodes

Image

Todorov was confortable at the front

Image

Remedio and Barbosa, a good work of Caccere always running in the top ten

Image

Tim de Klein hits heavily the guard-rail.

Image

Karttunen spins in one of the variants. He just lost one place and didn´t hurt the car.

Image

Todorov was leading by six seconds, but Woldenberg wanted more. The dutch driver started to recover about 0.2/0.3 seconds by lap against Todorov, but was not enough.

Image

Henning Fisser and one of the most bizarres crashes I´ve ever seen in GP2. The accident wasn´t so hard to split the car in two... Fortunatelly he´s ok.

Image

Image

Jake Sanson: Anothe one bites the dust

Image

Nuri Hummels did a good race considering all the problems ADAC Racecom suffered in past races, counting the heavy crash of his team mate. He gained two positions in the last 5 laps.

Image

And the the unexpected: Nuvolari leaves the track with... a puncture

Image

Rick Waldenberg trying to enter in the points. But Alingas is no easy driver.

Image

Finally, Todorov taking the checkered flag

I don't understand. How do you do the races? With network between 26 drivers? I thought it was impossible

Karttunen went straight in one of the turns. He didn´t go out, but lost many positions. In fact, he spun a second time, but just lost one position to Schulz.

Fisser´s crash was caused by oil from The Stig´s MSR-Honda?

With the help of some more images from different angles, we can now know that Fisser´s scary crash was caused by oil on the track from the almost dead engine of the #21 The Stig´s MSR-Honda. I think the marshalls had no time to wave the flags and Fisser was the unlucky one.

This the exact moment where Henning was entering Audi curve. The MSR was ahead with smoke from the engine.

Image

Henning loses control of the car

Image

...and the car´s floor hits the kerb

Image

Alingas had to avoid a crash with half of the ADAC Racecom Mercedes in the middle of the track

Image

M.S.R. Honda and a change needed

Marco Schiavon and The Stig were having today a meeting with MSR´s principle due to the poor performances of this team, with no points in the league and just a 14th and 19th final positions in Australia. In Austria and Netherlands both engines broke, so Honda´s representative was in the same meeting. Nothing was revealed about the discussions, but we hope for better races for MSR from now on.

As a final note, K-Speed use the same Honda engines as MSR but the reliability of this engines was way better.

Sweden GP at Anderstorp!

Todorov, Remedio and Dings come to Anderstorp in the three first places in the GP2RW championship. In a few hours we´ll have the qualifying and nothing is said. Not many changes during the week on the teams, so we expect a nice fight at the scandinavian raceway. The weather conditions are cold, but the track is perfect for racing.

Image

It will be a 62 laps race, with two pitsotps. The qualifying, soon.

Todorov flies away at Sweden

Image

Georgi Todorov and Team Bulgaria will start tomorrow from the pole following a dominant qualifying at Anderstorp and taking the first point of weekend. Jens Dings was second with the AD Heave and trying to catch another win. Jurg Woldenberg stopped the clocks with third and Thomas Kost did a brilliant session in his first good result of the year. In row 3 Alex Diehl and the other Waldenberg and completing the first 4 rows is The Stig, with a reborn MSR-Honda and Tazio Nuvolari fighting back from the puncture and the bad luck in the last race.
