Jens Dings wins in Australia

The first GP2RW race was the first win for Jens Dings. The win was not easy altough he was the poleman. Nuri Hummels won the first place on the start, on the third turn and a strong Antonio Pessoa let Dings in third place in just a few corners.

The running order on lap 2 was Hummels, Pessoa, Dings, a very fast Nuvolari and the young bulgarian driver Teodorov.

But Hummels was about to loose the first place to Pessoa...

...and started to have problems with the front brakes.

Meanwhile, one of the first problems at turn 7, one of the toughest parts of this track.

Antonio Pessoa went early for fresh tyres and fuel, so this let the open door for Dings and Nuvolari. Later, this was the running order:

Dings was having a good day and for lap 20 the gap on Nuvolari started to grow.

This four drivers were giving some show to the spectators, for the 4th position

Rotter taking Pessoa, from Andreas cockpit

Roberto Remedio was one of the retirements with a blown suspension

Pessoa let the front somewhere in Australia...

Nobody in sight behind Ding´s car. Almost 16 seconds over Teodorov.

Image

10 laps for finish and this was the order on the track. Nuvolari was closing on Rotter and Klein

Image

...and moves over Klein

Fisser´s engine on fire in the closing laps

Five laps to finish and the positions so far.

Nuvolari and a last try against Teodorov

Finally, Jens Dings crossed the line and is his first win in GP2RW!

I think AS-TK F1 - BMW, both drivers in the points,
is strong enough for a good result in Austria. 8)

Roberto Remedio will start the Austrian GP from pole and de Klein stops the Caccere party at the austrian ring

Image

With just an incredible 0,001 of a second difference, Roberto Remedio put the Caccere in the first place for tomorrow´s race at the beautiful Osterreichring. On second, Tim de Klein with the Simtek Ford dividing the blue, red and white team, because third was Leonardo Barbosa in a superb work for the Caccere team, with two cars in the first two rows.

But the Simteks will not quit without a fight. The other blue Simtek with David Stunnenberg taked the 4th place, far from Alex Diehl and Jens Dings.

Roberto Remedio won the austrian duel

A very strategical austrian race but with lots of overtaking and a clean winner. Roberto Remedio won at the Osterreichring and AD-Heave taked second and third receiving some good points for the championship. At the end, Simtek went adrift with the two cars out of race.

Start of the race. Remedio keeps the lead, both Simteck attacking and Barbosa started slow and loose two places at Hella curves. Later, The Stig and Arabajiev overtaked Barbosa too.

Lap 16 and Barbosa reach the first place thanks to the pitstops. The bulgarian team went strong too, and Andreas Schulz started to gain places with a solid AS-TK F1.

With the first round of stops done, de Klein and Remedio fought for the first place for a while and the Simtek driver won. Arabajiev was near Remedio who had some problem

The winner at Australia, Jens Dings, share his cockpit, while we can see the 10 first postions for lap 41. Both Ad Heave were very fast for the second part. Alex Diehl had the lead, Remedio was near and Dings was 9 seconds behind.

Dutch GP preview:

GP2RW is preparing the next race in the beautifull Zandvoort track. All the teams and cars are at the circuit and the expectations are high. We had two different winners in the first two races, but the home team, DTRW Viper will present some aero changes in order to get a good result at home.

Jurg vd Woldenberg is happy at home and takes the pole at Zandvoort

Jurg vd Woldenberg sailed to the pole in a thrilling Zandvoort qualy, where everybody waited for the local boys and the so talked new aero package. Jurg had no problem to let Alex Diehl behind and Georgi Todorov in third.

The other Woldenberg (Rick) had bad luck and the traffic left the other DTRW Viper far from the front, starting from 21º. Tazio Nuvolari did a good comeback in 4th sharing the same row with Todorov. Nuvolari´s team mate, Petri Karttunen will start from 5th with good chances for the Peze Team. Jens Dings completes the row 3, with Caccere Team and AS-TK F1 behind
