Schulz is a little disappointed with the result far behind his teammate.
The team is very happy, second row for Kost. :D

Todorov unstopable in Scandinavia

Georgi Todorov got his second win in a row at Anderstorp with a back to back race with Jurg Woldenberg and Nuvolari completing podium. Todorov never had real opposition in the track and there´s no doubt that Bulgaria Team has the fastest car in the field.

I,´m sorry but for some problem in the computer I lost all the images from start to lap 8, so we won´t have here the start and the first laps.

The postions on the first laps were dominated by Todorov who started to grow the distance with J Woldenberg, Kost, Dings and Diehl.

Image

The first out of the race was for Barbosa´s Caccere and later Jens Dings

Image

Diehl, Kost and Nuvolari were battling for third, with Waldenberg in second and Todorov far away (unless not so far as GP2Lap says)

Image

In the second group, there was a nice fight with Arabajiev, Schiavon, Remedio and Kartunen

Image

Todorov was the first at the pits. Waldenberg was first for a while.

Image

The bulgarian car back to the track in 14th position

Image

The activity in the pits. Nuvolari going in

Image

End of the first stint and the positions so far

Image

After a very bad start in the league, both MSR Honda were running together in 11th and 12th

Image

Markus Rotter went from an obscure out of the race with the engine blown, to entering the pits and have the engine fixed!

Image

Here, Rotten brakes late for Norra in an overenthusiastic mood after the miracle

Image

Almost half of the race and Todorov had a very quiet race. He lost some time in the following 4 laps, but recovered. Waldenberg and Nuvolari were not rivals today.

Image

Tim de Klein broke the engine and spins at Gislaved, the last turn. This track uses the pits between Gislaved and Sodra. Remember that this track has two pits facilities. The other was unused today and is at Laktar straight.

Image

What we have here... Problems between MSR drivers. The Stig has to cut the chicane avoiding a contact with Marco Schiavon. No team orders here!

Image

Rick Woldenberg has to go out with the second DRTW Viper´s engine burnt. He was in sixth

Image

Positions before second round of pitsops Todorov had Waldenberg under control

Image

Waldenberg changed the strategy on last second piting before Todorov

Image

Andreas Schulz spins at the start-finish straight! A pitty, he was in 5th

Image

The car in the middle of the track with the engine stoped being avoided by the others

Image

Schulz cooking the rear tyres in the last attempt to get back on the race... but he was last, now.

Image

Another driver trying to solve an electrical problem into the pits. He went back to the race.

Image

Thomas Kost out of the race in front of his pitwall. The german team suffered with both cars today.

Image

Todorov at the final line. Woldenberg, Nuvolari, Diehl and Arabajiev couldn´t do more than hold on positions to the end.

What a disappointment!
My rookie mistake and Kost's bad luck, ruined our weekend.
I am doubly disappointed because Anderstorp is one of my favourite tracks.

German GP Preview

The GP2RW comes to the Südschleife, one of the most historics tracks over the world and one of the most recent creations for GP2. Pure motor racing history in your hands and the first race of a public GP2 series in this venue.

Image

We´ll have 38 laps and 2 pitsotps. Todorov, Remedio and Dings are at the top of the championship, but sure there will be others than wll want to win. Will be the Waldenberg up to the task, or Nuvolari? Maybe a new contender?

Part of the answer, tomorrow with the qualifying :D

The other Green Hell didn´t scare Todorov who is in pole for the German GP

Image

More than 30 years after the last race at the Südschleife, the GP2RW qualifying started at the revamped track. Georgi Todorov and the Team Bulgaria, along with local engine manufacturer Mercedes, came to Germany thinking on more points and a bigger gap in the championship. And till now is almost done, with the second pole in a row for the bulgarian.

Tim de Klein tried a recovering of the Simtek Ford, after a couple of poor races and reached second, while Jens Dings claimed the third place. Andreas Schulz and the second bulgarian, Arabajiev, complete the 3rd row and Nuvolari shares the next row with Rick Woldenberg. Sadly, Jurate Gemskyte and Matt O'Donnell didn´t make it for the race.

One of the changes will be the newcomer Nico Weidlinger for K-Speed, replacing one of their drivers. Weidlinger is a well known driver in local leagues and will be backed by new sponsors, a convenient move for the K´s.

This is the starting grid:

Re: GP2 Racing World - German GP -The other Green Hell-Quali

Post by racer63 »

Georgi Todorov takes the Green Hell by storm and wins the German GP

There´s no doubt about it. Todorov came to win and he won a very demanding race with just 13 cars reaching the finish line. This track was the most demanding in terms of retirements, but once again Todorov ads a new win. Jens Dings and Alex Diehl were second and third taking very good points for AD

Start of the race and Todorov takes the lead. Note one of the DRTW - Viper going for the outside and straight to the green.

Image

The first incident of the race. A very optimistic move from Remedio over his team mate ended in a short fly and the front wing ready for repairs.

Image

Image

Schulz push Jurg Woldenberg out of the track and with a broken rear wheel. Fortunatelly (for Schulz) the marshalls were looking to the other side.

Image

Todorov started to make a gap over Nuvolari

Image

And the famous italian driver had Jens Dings behind

Image

Andreas Schulz moves over Arabajiev and takes the 8th

Image

Poor Nuvolari. He left the track with mechanical problems

Image

Arabajiev, Schulz and J Rotter. The Minarae had a very good race today, making it´s way up to 7th place.

Image

Another punishment for Marco Schiavon and another engine gone

Image

Emerson dos Santos leaving the race at Scharfer Kopf

Image

Nico Wiedlinger entered the pits in lap 12 but later couldn´t handle the cold tyres going wide and loosing a tyre.

Image

Andreas Schulz had today a new package but sadly the only part that failed was the transmission.

Image

End of the first pitstops and Jens Dings had Todorov in sight after the white car left the pits. The AD tried to overtake the bulgarian car, but it wasn´t a good place to do it.

Image

Dings can do nothing to draft behind Todorov.

Image

Henning Fisser had a bad time when one of the Caccere had a contact with the ADAC RaceCom

Image

Roberto Remedio stops in the middle of Betonkerhe for a water leak.

Image

Tim de Klein´s Simtek was the provisional leader during the second pitstops

Image

Thomas Kost changuing tyres and refuelling while Abarajiev stops too.

Image

Lap 25 and 14 cars surviving in the Green Hell

Image

Diehl and de Klein wheel to wheel at the very long Gegengerade straight

Image

Jake Sanson see Fisser spining in front

Image

More fire to hell. Dan Richards goes home with half of the car burned

Image

With just two laps to go, Kost takes Stunnenberg and the 4th final position.

Image

Todorov wins at Germany and extends the championship lead.

IM AMAZED  3 pole positions and 3 wins in a row :!: My virtual pilot seems to be very cool. :D Arabajiev is also a good driver almost always at top 10. 8)

BTW: I want to upgrade my both drivers but with how many points I can do it :?:Can I upgrade them with 80 for only 1 race and does this is permanent to the end of the season :?:
