Andreas, which offset did you change? It may help me on another stuff :)

I'm not a big touringcar crack, but I like what you've done there. Nevertheless I think I'll play GP2 with some WTCC cars and BTCC cars at the weekend, because of the race that will be at Macao then. Now I also know what I have to make to get good races (take the cc-car setup from track-editor and copy it to my car).

And learn to use the slot editor :)

I made all here described changes in the carshape.dat.

Carshape Texture 92 , Arg:97 = Jam 407 (damage.jam)
hex97 = dez151 = jam407
(151+256 - You know that from ID5 objects in track editor)

The last 5 or 6 days I made nothing in the GP2 world except hex editing.
But I haven't found what I'm looking for.
I'm sure, somewhere in the carshape is a switch "This polygon is visible from this directions or degrees"
With this switch it should be possible to fix the most bugs.

The bug on the rear wheel (Touring car): For this we use a polygon which is not visible from ahead at the original shape.
At the touring car we have this bug when we see the car from - ahead!! (From some directions or degrees).

I have placed another polygon on the similar position. A polygon which is visible from behind in at the original shape.
(rear wheel suspension).
The bug is fixed.

Good: The bug is fixed.
Bad: We must paint the areas around the rear wheels twice.
We must repaint the existing carsets.

Very clever!

I believe it's stored somewhere outside the carshape.

New bugfix!

In the zip is a updated carshape, a repainted BTCC09 carset, a damage.jam with changed Texture ID, a small preview video.

This fix don't need the hex-patched gp2.exe.
Install the shape as usual with the CarEditor.
Use the new damage.jam.

Just tried it out, works great! Something about the rear wheel doesn't quite look right though, but I guess it's simply because the wheel section you've painted onto the sidepod-front area doesn't get distorted in the way that the "normal" rear wheel does.

Also I noticed you put the rear suspension parts back on the bitmap, where does these fit in to the new shape?

I'm not sure at the moment.
I made hundreds of useless changes over the last days.
Sometimes I lost the ......... (track of? the overall picture? the focus? :-k )
Maybe we can delete the rear suspension parts.

What did you actually do to the carshape then? I had a look and as far as I can see all the points are the same but obviously you've done something...

That looks very promising. Engstler BMW, Lada and Chevrolet Cruze, I was able to identify the cars, although I'm no touring car expert. So they must be done extremely well!

Cheers! I'll be sending it to Andreas later today.

After that I'm gonna do a bit of experimenting with GT's...

I recently purchased a couple of books that will help me with the old BTCC Super Touring carsets, they're BTCC season reviews of the 1994 and 1995 seasons. Anyone know of anything similar for the FIA GT championship?
