Well so far I've only done the BMW 3-series E36-shape saloon and coupe but I'll send them.

The carshape/bitmap combination looks great. Especially the front is extremely convincing, seems you found a perfect solution for it!

Cheers! To be honest the front could do with being a bit less "blocky", I've tried to move the rear wing end plate to the front in order to make it look smoother but for some reason it wouldn't show up, never mind though!

Oh yes! Sorry dude!

Never realised that the bitmap in Paint.NET could be so easy to play around with!!

Clearly I need to really learn everything about Paint.NET before I can really do some good stuff with it. Was hoping to use your bitmaps as templates for my own touring car project. Trouble is I'm awful at front ends. No, really. They look awful, and I just haven't got the time or the patience to make them look good.

Any chance I could send you some front ends of some blank cars and you could adjust the front ends for me?? That sounds really lazy but You're the best at them!!

Yeah no worries.

You don't need to learn to much about Paint.net, I know probably 15 per cent of the features in it but it's enough to get by!

Basically I have a load of touring car bitmaps that I downloaded from somewhere, can't remember where (possibly a GP3 site) which includes cars from BTCC throughout the 90s and 00s, DTM, Supertourisme, Euro Touring Cars, Swedish Touring Cars amongst others. On top of them I have some mini projects of my own that I've started.

Perhaps you could use your expertise to make them GP2 worthy.

Right, it's been a while since I updated this.

Basically, I scrapped everything I'd done for the touring cars and started again with a new carshape. It's taken me a while as, to be honest, my enthusiasm for GP2 is waning. I've thought often about giving it all up as I simply can't be bothered with it most of the time.

However, I am continuing (for now). I've just finished work on the current BMW 3-series but I'll wait till I've actually released a carset before I send any templates. Hopefully my motivation will return, the new breed of touring cars in the British series is helping me as I think it will lead to a bit of a renaissance for tin-tops.

So, at the moment, my plans are as follows:

2010 BTCC, WTCC, V8 Supercars
2011 BTCC, WTCC, STCC, V8 Supercars
Possibly 2010 FIA GT1, 2011 IndyCar

Obviously all this is a lot of work (although the touring car series do use the same cars) so it may be a while before these see light of day.

Great to hear you're back in business.

Sometimes I too wonder how long to continue or is there enough motivation. But breaks do good. And summer is almost here so GP2 can be aside awhile for me then :)
