I think you have the same effect when you save the damage.jam as a bitmap make it green and then export it with GP2edit. But this solution is not good, because of the reason AAS mentioned.

The solution for the problem is Roberto's Texture Mapping Tutorial. I once created a sportscar without that mistake with it, but when I tried it again later, it didn't work out. But I should try again. What you need is the tutorial and a hex-editor. I can't find the thread where it was posted, but if there's some request I can upload the tutorial here later.

Just finishing up things with the BTCC 1998 carset and then I'm working on more touring cars forever and ever!!

Greyhead, is it possible to be really cheeky and ask for the bitmaps you sent me with headlights and mirrors and everything attached? Just blank bitmaps of each car? I tried to add the accessories myself, but I'm rubbish and I ended up ruining most of them!!

Yeah no worries Jake.

By the way, I got in interesting message regarding GP2 this morning from someone called "claudiof1". Unfortunately it's all in Portuguese (I assume it is anyway, the e-mail address it was sent from was Brazilian), I've never been out of Britain so I don't know a deal of Portuguese... Claudiof1, if you're reading this, I can only speak English and a bit of German, sorry...

The translation "Portuguese to English" is useful

Tester wanted

For my BTCC09 Installation I use a transparent JamID 407 (damage.jam)
The known bug in front view is eliminated.

But the outcome of this is another bug:

The black part under the tail is missing :?

With a Hex Editor I made a little change in the GP2. exe.
Now the part under the tail uses another jam.

For test purpose used texture. The green transparent texture repairs the front view bug.
The new black/white texture for the rear view bug.

The final damage.jam, included in the zip file:

Quick update (mainly for FK): been doing a quick bit of research into GT's... Found a very useful site with lots of pictures from every season, so I may well look further into it. Although it won't be for a while.

Could you post a link to the site, please? I'm interested in it as well. I mainly use racingsportscars.com or motorsport.com or google picture search.

When I said a couple of weeks, I meant a few days...

It's ready and on its way to Andreas.
