The way things are in the Hybrid era, the 3 top teams being almost unbeatable by any other team under normal circumstances, it's like the rest of the field is a 2nd tier class, hence "GP2". Force India is the usual winner of this. But yes - I also spotted that someone was mentioning "Grand Prix 2" out there!

I think that Sauber is a kind of a GP3 acting alone, right now. Once there were Caterham and Virgin to do this... while HRT was GP4

Yes F1 is so boring nowadays.. even if this year is better than 2016. They should create one championship with ferrari and mclaren.. I regret the 70's, the 80's.. and the early 90's.. Besides the fact that Gp2 is a great game.. We like Gp2 because it was made when F1 was exciting.
