Question from someone so excited to see the game still alive

Hi there,

Firstly I am so happy that this game from my childhood is still alive, however, I have a quick question. Would there be an update around so that the first 10 drivers score points like how it is now, as opposed to the first 6. Currently I am downloading so many great things, but this would make the game perfect for me, if such an update existed.

You can easily make the point-system by yourself:
Download GP2edit, import the gamefiles from GP2 and somewhere in the GP2edit Editor is the point for editing the Point-System. :P

Thanks very much for this :D I'll have to give it a go at the weekend when I am not swamped with work, and report back. I'm certain I did not have such issues when I was playing this aged 8!

Hi there. I really can't seem to get this to work. Could someone give me a guide on how to edit this, as I'm really struggling.

Thanks in advance :)

What you can't run?

1. If you want to run bare bones GP2 on Windows higher than XP this is overkill for the game because it is a DOS game. Use DOSBOX.
2. If you want to run GP2Edit - place it in drive C and it would work.

Note: If you have Windows 8/8.1 then you will have huge problems. ](*,)

I can't seem to run GP2 Edit. The game works fine. I have GP2 edit where you say I should have it, and I edit the championship points and game settings, but then I don't know what to do after that. If I want to save it, I don't know what I should be saving it into and if I press launch game on the GP2 Edit toolbar it says it can't due to incompatability of 64 bit version of Windows, so I'm a bit lost

Ohh, that's the problem... Do not run the game from there! To save press the "Export" button. It will export every change you made to the game.

Cheers for the reply mate. It says GP2.exe not patched correctly when I try and export

I haven't, but it says that it won't run as the version is not compatible with my version of windows. I'm beginning to feel like a child with my lack of understanding here :(

No problem! It's normal Gp2 is old ;)
You must install dosbox svn here : http://ykhwong.x-y.net/
and in menu "Quick launch" you go to "gp2 no cd". So don't forget paste the "Circuits" folder in gp2.
Courage!

What is your Windows after all? Sounds like 8 or 8.1. :-k

Hi Michael. I've installed this, but am not 100% sure what I am meant to be doing with the programme when it opens up. Sorry to be dumb lol
