GP2Lap/No Sound/Speedy Game

Post by ClarkGillesSenna »

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting in this forum although not the first time visiting. Your work has been admirable upgrading the possibilities of this enormous game. So for that I thank you all!

However I seem to (still) have a problem with gp2lap. Whenever I start gp2lap it speeds the game up so much that I can't even stay in track, the sound is gone, but all the other features such as the car shape distance problem is gone (minus one problem at least). But if I start gp2.exe the speed problem is completely gone and working fine and the sound is back...I have installed gplap in the same directory as gp2.exe. I have DosBox 0.74 and VDMSound also in the same directory. I have entered gp2 setup and tried to select soundblaster card, but then the game crashes as I enter. I have WIndows XP...

I'll be forever grateful if you could help on this one guys...

Thanks

Welcome!

If the game is running too fast with the emulation inside DosBox, you can use Strg+F11 to slow down the cycles of the (emulated) CPU, or Strg+F12 to speed up again if pressing that a number of times makes things too slow, then. It should say so in the welcome message, as well, as DosBox starts up.

Had the same problem years ago on my old (XP) PC.

Everything worked fine with vdmsound and SPEEDSET
by Vlad R.
If I remember right, speedset is included in the latest
vdmsound versions!?

You can activate it with the "Advanced VDMSound Properties"
in the way described here.
